Holmes takes on Elstadt’s role
12 Sep 2012
Tyrone Holmes has been brought straight into the WP side at blindside flank in place of the injured Rynhardt Elstadt.
Holmes has recovered from injury and replaces Elstadt, who will be sidelined with a rib problem for three weeks.
Further changes for Saturday’s clash against the Sharks see Brok Harris replacing Frans Malherbe in the front row, as Malherbe has joined the Springboks in New Zealand.
Meanwhile, fullback Joe Pietersen is over his injury but will only feature from the bench.

Deon Fourie is becoming a pretty good opensider… Might be better suited to it than hooker.

Province are gonna seriously miss Elstadt this weekend, he’s a tough player and a very good ball carrier.
Holmes is similar to Deon and hasnt really impressed me with the chances he’s had. We still very depleted in the loosie position, no Burger, Koster, Kolisi, Carr and now with Duanne in the bok side we are even thinner. Missing 5 first choice loosies.
Sharks have the advantage as they are only missing 2.
Glad to see that Groom is getting another start, tough lil player who will keep the sharks busy around the fringes. Still needs work on his tactical kicking tho.
I see that province is keen to keep the greek now, maybe a lil to late for that. He’s playing well but can he win us a Super 15??? dont think so, Tim swiel who’s playing for the u21 side is seriously good.
Gary needs to start getting some game time now, he is after all 2nd in the flyhalf pecking order. Looks like curt coleman will be used as more of a 15
Glad that De Allende is gettin another start, big and strong and has heaps of potential. Very over Van den Heever, he’s big and quick but seems to be scared of contact.
Tom Botha is on the bench for Malherbe, Malherbe will learn alot in the Bok setup and this will be good for him as he is only 21. Botha is a strong tighthead that played u21s last year, he needs Currie cup experience in order for next years Super 15, JC is always injured as he is the other backup prop.
Hope Scarra has another big game, he’s done really well since getting a few starts, Deon shouldve always played flank, he’s alot better in that position.
Have your say
