All these negative comments, the bottom line is that a team who has been the laughing stock of Super Rugby for the last few years will go. A new team, in a better financial position, unbeaten this year has been given a chance. Lets all support the S.A. sides and stop with the negative whinning !

The EC is corrupt, there I will agree with you, but saying that the promise of transformation means having a team of black players, is just talking from your poephol.

Injection the region will get?? WTF! the only injection will be into Puke Seniors bank account! Dam u are dilustional! Do u support the ANCYL as well..The EC doesnt deserve a S15 spot, bottom Line, it was only given to them because of black transformation! And now they are pulling players from all over the world, its a farce! it should have gone to a team who deserve it based on merit! like the griquas, or even Boland who won the second division currie cup last year, the kings cant even win a second division currie cup!! what a joke!

I agree with you mate! The kings, puke and puke senior are a joke! Nothing more than greedy businessman, he has no interest in development at all! They are like Malema, they will feed you the biggest load of BS and deliver nothing! I can t wait for the 2013 season, im gonna support anyone who plays against the kings.. i can see it now crusaders 120 kings 0..I would even support Australia or England against the kings!

@Riaan26-199: You are mistaken. Transformation isn't necesarily about putting 15 players of colour in the team. There is a lot that can happen on different levels for transformation because of the injection the region will get from playing Super Rugby.

@Riaan26-199: What these "administrators" & "politicians" don't realise is that for as long as the racist quota system & "transformation" (read Affirmative Action) policies remain entrenched in South African Rugby the richer unions will continue to buy up the best of the "black" EC talent in order to bolster their own flagging supply of quota players. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work that one out, Hoskins/Watson & your ilk.

Ooh, I just love the irony. If I’m not mistaken, Cheeky Watson wanted the Kings to be an all, or mostly black team, to develop black rugby in the Eastern Cape. And here he is, buying a bunch of white players for the Kings’ first Super 15 season.

Kings cant jus take any player they want, this is rugby where you hardly ever get tranfer fee’s, not officially anyway. And we’re acting as if all the existing kings players a not worthy. Lets not disregard nokwe, dunlop, mangweni nd co. Kings have stated that they will be lookin at players with ability and expiring contracts. Strauss was able to leave the lions because he wasnt signing for a rival, they likely let him out of his existing contract. Best of luck to the kings
