Greyling cited for strike

Greyling cited for strike

Springbok prop Dean Greyling has been cited for foul play following the Test in Dunedin on Saturday.

According to a statement from Sanzar, Greyling is alleged to have contravened Law 10.4 (a) Punching or Striking, when he made contact with All Blacks captain Richie McCaw with his arm in the 64th Minute of Saturday’s match.

Referee George Clancy spotted the infringement and proceeded to yellow-card Greyling. Upon further review of the match footage the citing commissioner deemed the incident had met the red card threshold for foul play.

Meanwhile, Bok coach Heyneke Meyer offered a public apology to McCaw.

‘I am very big on discipline and it is unacceptable,’ Meyer said. ‘I think it cost us the game as well.

‘I want to apologise to Richie and we will deal with it in-house, but it is unacceptable. We are a team that prides ourselves and you can’t afford these things in games.’

Greyling’s play was poor, and he capped it off with the cheap shot. Hopefully his days in a Bok jersey are numbered.

Idiot, hopefully will go and play overseas or something!

I want Greyling, the non-existent fullback and the Steyn creature as far away from a Springbok jersey as possible. They are nothing but trouble, inject lethal doses of poison into the Springbok system and revel in watching the whole unit collapse as a result of their stupidity.

Greyling was never Bok Material, so his citing is insignificant as he was never gonna be picked again, but with Meyer u just never know as illogical thinking is logical to him

    4 penatlies
    Stupid Punch, yello card
and drops the ball with the try line in site.

If ever i considered how you would throw a rugby match for the bookies, i witnessed it first hand, and how long was he on for?
    what a complete brain ****.
i hope he never plays for the boks again.

I think you will find that any team playing against RSA next would be desperate to play against this rsole! He would gift them a half at least.

As a Saffer – I hope he is banned for life.

I hope Heyneke sits between Greyling and Morne on the plane on the way home and Heyneke is in their ear for 13 hours solid.

HM why did you take off beast for greyling was he injured or fatigued or playing badly? none of the above ………..greyling was a great impact player for the ABs

  • 9.wallabie.: Reply to this comment

Greyling should only be cited for not smashing him!

  • 10.Big Hit: Reply to this comment

Meyer apologising to Richie is cringeworthy. You didn’t hear Graham Henry apologising to any of the players his team tried to injure and Declan Kidney didn’t apologise when Heaslip dropped a knee on McCaw for cheating.

Greyling is a thug and if his form in the Super 15 was anything to go by what was he doing there in the first place?? No doubt he will get exactly what he deserves a guilty verdict!

  • 12.GreenFan: Reply to this comment

    @Big Hit

There is absolutely nothing cringe worthy about it. If nothing else its saying to the players – “Dont expect my backing if you gna behave like a thug”. And thats a message the players need to get.

I don’t understand what Heyneke is saying. These are his selections. So are we saying that he does not know his players. Last game it was Etzebeth, this game it was Greyling. Someone is telling these okes to target key players like Sharpe and Mccaw. I don’t blame the players. I’ve never seen Etzebeth do what he did even at provincial matches. He is normally only focused on what he needs to do. The coaches are the ones who are trying to make him into a Bakkies Botha.

Can the commissioner cite Morne for his rubbish game too? I hope so.

Investigate morning for match fixing or at least call him a quota.

you also missed that it was Greyling who missed the tackle on Smith for his try. So all in, he gave away 4 penalties, got yellow carded, dropped a ball with the line at his mercy, conceded a try and his last penalty cost the Boks a losing bonus point.

Some guys won’t have that kind of record in a Test season. he did it all in 20 minutes.

This d ick must be banned from rugby for being a d umbass.

And moron and nick nacks must never see the inside of a stadium in a rugby jersey again. Morne was always a stop gap. He never ever was going to take the bok game to the next level. Ever

Heyneke must wake the f up. You cannot be so ignorant. Hope the press gives it to him when he returns home

The Beast conceded a 3 pointer in front of the poles last week and got carded for a moronic ‘tackle” on one of the Wallabies. So this bloke probably thought if the beast can do it he can do it better. He certainly succeeded.

If Greyling gets 3 months, we should appeal that decision.

And ask for at least 6 months.

Oh hang on. I suppose at least Kirchner and Steyn will talk to him.

Ok, time for a pop quiz: Guess who posted this after the Bok/England test at Ellis Park?

“Maybe this can shut up the doubters… But I doubt it… Because the doubters, especially on Keo are just plain stoopid.

    Well done Boks… And HM…

Knowledgeable, Proud and Honest fans can see glory portals of where he wants the Boks to be… And it looks frighteningly, ominously good….”
