Toulon continue winning streak

In France, Toulon continued their impressive start to the domestic campaign as they downed Montpellier 32-25. The victory sees the three-time Top 14 champions extend their lead at the top of the overall standings to four log points.

In other results, Perpignan beat Toulouse 34-20 at home. The defending champions have now lost two matches this season.

Racing Metro picked up a good 25-18 win against Bayonne, while Castres gave Biarritz their first loss of the campaign with a 28-13 triumph.

In England, the highlight fixture of the weekend between Saracens and the Leicester Tigers finished in a 9-9 stalemate.

Harlequins and the Northampton Saints emerged as the only teams to have won all their fixtures as they beat the Sale Sharks (37-14) and Bath (18-14) respectively.

In the Pro 12, Ulster edged Munster 20-19, which was their third consecutive victory. Scarlets still hold the lead on the log as they beat Connacht 24-11.

Leinster had to work hard for a 19-18 victory over Treviso, while Edinburgh thrashed Zebre 41-10 for the biggest win of the round.

    Go Toulon….! Bakkies in really good shape and Joe Van Niekerk came on and scored a great try…..running rugby at its best from both sides….enjoyed the game and brand of rugby…
