Wallabies received triple boost
19 Sep 2012
Sitaleki Timani, Dom Shipperley and Stephen Moore have been cleared to tour South Africa and Argentina.
The Wallabies will be without Quade Cooper for their remaining two Rugby Championship Tests, but the good news is that three of their charges have recovered from injuries, and have been included in the touring squad.
Coach Robbie Deans has also called up prop Paddy Ryan and wing Nick Cummins. Both men are yet to be capped at international level.
The Wallabies will play the Springboks in Pretoria on 29 September, and the Pumas in Rosario on 6 October.
Wallabies squad to tour South Africa and Argentina: Adam Ashley-Cooper, Kurtley Beale, Digby Ioane, Dominic Shipperley, Nick Cummins, Ben Tapuai, Anthony Fainga’a, Pat McCabe, Berrick Barnes, Mike Harris, Nick Phipps, Brett Sheehan, Scott Higginbotham, Radike Samo, Michael Hooper, Liam Gill, Dave Dennis, Rob Simmons, Nathan Sharpe, Kane Douglas, Sitaleki Timani, Ben Alexander, Paddy Ryan, James Slipper, Benn Robinson, Saia Fainga’a, Stephen Moore, Tatafu Polota Nau.

Got to break the terrible run at Loftus…select wisely Meyer.

Not a problem, we can select 6 new players from the KZN school system, theyre all older than 21 apparently.

I think that if we play the following team, we will beat the Aussies:
1 Beast
2 Strauss (Liebenberg)
3 JDP (Cilliers)
4 Flip
5 Bekker (Kruger)
6 Louw
7 Alberts
8 Vermulen (Coetzee)
9 Pienaar (and told to play rugby as he sees it, not kick)
10 Goosen
11 Habana
12 Steyn
13 JDV
14 Hougard
15 Lambie
**If Pieterson is fit, bring him to 14, and move Hougard to bench/starting 9. Im not phased between him & Pienaar.

What will happen if Australia win at Loftus.

@NZINCHINA-4: Well China several things…new TV sales will sky rocket, insurance companies in SA will take a hit and there will be many, many tears

Skep I’d prefer the Ab’s play there always great dry weather to suit our gameplan, was fortunate to catch a game there a few years back great stadium even managed to sneak out on the turf after the game for a quick walk.

@NZINCHINA-11: China are you putting a hex on us?

No mate, you must be confident of knocking them over?

Surely a lot will depend on whether Meyer sticks with pienar and m.steyn? If those two start’ the Aussies must have a chance of sneaking a win?
19 Sep 2012, 13:24 pm
If hougard and goosen start at 9 and 10, I don’t think the Aussies have much chance of winning.

@corporal punishment-15: Agreed. And Lambie at 15 in place of Sideshow Bob.
Pienaar and his glacial service and bad kicks, Morne Steyn and his all-round uselessness and Kirtchner the quota the three weakest links. And Meyer and his coaching team too. Can still see Meyer swapping Flouw for Coetzee in a “horses for courses” move against the Aussies. What a disaster that would be.

Transie 6
Timani positive selection by Deans big powerful athletic lad with plenty potential.instead of selecting washed up veterans or never was’s like Dean Mumm,Wallace-Harrison,Kimlin etc on the basis of “experience”….the south African way

Both Jake & Peter had one big win in their first 3N season This is a ‘work in progress’ Aus team; unique possibility for SA to put 40+ on the Loftus scoreboard, although the dry conditions could suit Beale, AAC, Shipperley & co

I feel like the loss of Cooper is some how a good thing. Seems like the guy has lost his attacking threat. Considering that was all he had going for him before it’s left him as a pretty bad number 10. I think the Aussies will do better with somebody new.
Have your say
