Kings finish strong

Keo.co.za wraps up the Currie Cup first division results from this weekend.
The Kings maintained their unbeaten record by rebounding from a 21-point deficit against the Pumas to earn a 26-all draw. The Port Elizabeth crowd thought their team were out of it with 25 minutes to play, but they ran in three tries in the last 23 minutes for a result that sees them top the log and bank a home semi-final. The Pumas will host the other play-off.
The Leopards were made to sweat by Border after taking a 31-14 lead into half-time. The men from the Eastern Cape broke loose in the second half but just couldn’t finish off, losing 43-40. The Leopards move into third position.
The Valke and Boland were out of contention for a semi-final place and through caution to the wind in a 52-all draw in which both sides scored eight tries.
The Griffons kept their semi-final hopes alive with a 50-49 win over SWD in Welkom after trailing by six points with three minutes to go. Japie Nel scored late and flyhalf Hansie Graaff converted from close to the left touchline.

“Currie Cup first division” — you mean the one that is really the second division?

Luke Watson was awesome on Friday night. Difficult to tackle from the base of the csrum. Much better than any of the Bok squad’s eighthman. Hanneke were you watching?

Luke was always a good loose forward and far better than Spies . Unfortunately due to “certain issues” i doubt HM would select him , if he did then HM is a bigger man than i thought .
Either way im glad Luke will be playing super rugby again he will probably be a standout in the comp

Have you noticed how some players stand out in the Currie Cup Premier Division (you know – the only division that anyone bothers to watch) but disappear in higher-level competitions? How much easier, then, should it be to stand out in the Currie Cup First Division? To say that someone who is playing in the Currie Cup First Division should be a Springbok is to be totally removed from reality.

Currie cup first division is a tough divsion with good players. IF you dont know that u never played a high level of rugby and dont know what ur talking about. Kings defence has conceded under 2 tries a game and their attack is awesome. These teams would destroy varsity cup sides by 50 points.
