Pumas unchanged for La Plata Test
26 Sep 2012
Argentina will field the same run-on side that lost to Australia for their penultimate Rugby Championship Test against New Zealand on Saturday.
Coach Santiago Phelan made two changes to his bench, bringing in prop Marcos Ayerza for Juan Pablo Orlandi and back row forward Tomas Vallejos for Leonardo Senator
‘Our objective is to improve match by match. In defence the players are full of confidence, we’re getting better and as a consequence the results will follow,’ Phelan said. ‘Saturday’s goal will be to avoid the drain of the final minutes,’ referring to their loss against the Wallabies despite leading by 13 points at one stage.
New Zealand will win the title if they are victorious. Their cause has been aided by news that Dan Carter is expected to recover from injury in time to play.
Argentina – 15 Lucas Gonzalez Amorosino, 14 Gonzalo Camacho, 13 Marcelo Bosch, 12 Santiago Fernandez, 11 Horacio Agulla, 10 Juan Martin Hernandez, 9 Martin Landajo; 8 Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe (c), 7 Juan Manuel Leguizamon, 6 Julio Farias Cabello, 5 Patricio Albacete, 4 Manuel Carizza, 3 Juan Figallo, 2 Eusebio Guinazu, 1 Rodrigo Roncero
Subs: 16 Agustin Creevy, 17 Marcos Ayerza, 18 Tomas Vallejos, 19 Tomas Leonardi, 20 Nicolas Vergallo, 21 Martin Rodriguez, 22 Juan Imhoff

Yep they will. At home its on the cards for an Argentine win.
But these ABs have just been doing enough to win, except for the game against OZ and Ireland where you slaughtered them.
But been an average showing by the ABs over the last few months

There are only a few certainties in life
Death is one certainty, tax is another, ..and the AB’s to win here and therefore the tournament is another one.

@Robzim-7: You neglected to include the other 2 of life’s certainties? Morne at 10 and Zane at 15……?

Now these guys are just taking the mickey. It’s hard enough trying to learn their names and then Fernandez Lobbe decides he doesn’t just have a double or triple name but a quadruple name: Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe! From now on I’m just learning surnames

Argies are playing pretty well and will be seriously fired up for this one after drawing with the Boks in a game they should have won. Having said that, my prediction is that once again the AB’s will take the game in the last quarter. Argies will burn up too much energy with all the early passion and the AB’s are masters at soaking it up and waiting for their moments. AB’s by 7. Might be Wallaby steaks for dinner the following weak though.

Big Hit – Wow those scores are fairly respectable against the ABs. This year the Argies are on fire, they may run this AB team close!!

@Big Hit-13:
2006 was close due to the ABs splitting up 2 teams.
They played Ireland on the 17th June and at the same time the other AB team was parting for Argentina.
Although we know Argentina are hard to play and beat at home.
Have your say
