The EP Kings beat the Leopards 23-20 to secure their 12th successive victory and a first-placed finish in the Currie Cup First Division League stage.
The result means that the Kings will host a semi-final next week. While the Leopards lost Friday’s encounter, they did enough to earn a bonus point and a place in the First Division play-offs.
The Griffons also did enough to qualify with a 39-29 victory over the Pumas in Nelspruit. This result, however, has not stopped the Pumas from finishing in second place on the log and thus securing home advantage in the semi-finals.
The SWD Eagles thumped the Valke 45-11 but this was not enough to propel them into the play-offs. The Eagles missed out on a semi-final place by a single log point.
In the other First Division match played on Friday, Boland beat Border 43-24.
