The “first division” that really is the second division….

@TheTackler-2: Premier Division & First Division…get with the program plank…

I wouldn’t bother responding, Tackler.

They do it in English soccer. It’s nothing new.
6 Oct 2012, 11:40 am
The Kings might just surprise a few people next year. Players like Hadleigh Parkes, Vergallo, Perez (any 2 of them ), SP Marais, Luke Watson, Steven Sykes, Maku, Strauss, will easily make the super15 squads of at least the Cheetahs . I do not think it is a foregone conclusion hat they will come last in the SA conference as many on keo seems to be praying for (especially if they can recruit a few more players).

@stormer in a teacup-5:
In English soccer it’s called The Championship. The first division is actually the old 3rd Division.

Why does a SA Team,
tag itself, with a beast not found on your Continent?
And hey, there is already another more famous Team using that moniker.
And for what it’s worth, I agree with Tickles.
1st Div = 2nd level of Competition………………………………….. Call it that.
It’s like the Shiit-house cleaner at McDonald’s, being called The Mgr of Sanitation, Hygiene and Germ Control.
What are they trying to achieve. They insult

Sooo why does a NZ team name themselves after a hateful religious crusade?
‘just returning serve’ ring a bell?

The Kings won. Happy for the fans. All of the Lions “fans” seem to be praying for faliure. The Lions have sucked for years now. Lets move on from from them. I will reserve my judgement of how they play till i see them next year. I mean people are saying the Kings will be a walking 5 pointer for other teams but i think if they had 3 years like the lions they would atleast get more then 6 wins or get whipped by 60 points at home.

So the Kings have one Islander called Perez, one Kiwi utility back, one Kiwi prop and one Argie scrumhalf to fill the two spots allowed for foreign players? Are they planning on using the same genius who was going to fit 6 teams into 5 spots to sort the algebra out on this?
6 Oct 2012, 12:22 pm
@David-19:
Is it (Robbin Is) a Tourist destination like Alcatraz?
6 Oct 2012, 12:23 pm
@cane-22: Considering where they’re based, they could have called them the Western Warthogs.
6 Oct 2012, 12:26 pm
@cane-25: Yes, although it could be run better.
You guys should do the same with the South Island.
6 Oct 2012, 12:34 pm
@cane-25: Very sad, if they’re not on strike then the ferries are out of action.

@Brentie1-35:
Not Super Rugby, but all national rugby like the CC and the Springboks. The current irony is that the original SARU was the black governing body for the region, which has a rugby history as old as white South Africans. SARFU, the white rugby body actually changed its name to SARU to show its commitment to reconciliation but somehow ignored the rich tradition of black rugby in the Eastern Cape as a region, when Luyt created the Super Regions.
6 Oct 2012, 15:16 pm
40.David
If that is the case, why recruit players from other franchises and overseas?
6 Oct 2012, 15:44 pm
@Brentie1-41:
Because, due to lack of a Franchise and S15 the best EC players have gone to other provinces, that includes youngsters being snapped up by their academies. Once SARU had waited till the last minute to confirm the Franchise and then only with a relegation/threat, the Kings had to create a team that had to what the Lions couldn’t after 10 years.
A lot of people reckon that EP (the main Kings province) should qualify for the CC first, but unlike the other provinces they didn’t have a franchise or the S15 sponsorship to attract or retain their best players.

@David-42: Honestly David , you wasting ur time , some people will just not understand. I gave up

Have your say
