The EP Kings will be without skipper Luke Watson for the Currie Cup First Division final and promotion-relegation play-offs.
Watson, who has struggled with injury earlier this year, suffered a fractured foot during the PE union’s 50-27 semi-final victory over the Leopards.
Director of rugby Alan Solomons confirmed to keo.co.za that the 28-year-old will miss the rest of the season.
The Kings will face the Pumas in the First Division title decider on Saturday. As the league winners, they will also compete in the Currie Cup promotion-relegation play-offs against the last-placed team in the Premier Division.
Watson is expected to recover in time for Super Rugby pre-season training. He will captain the Kings during their debut campaign in the competition next year.
