charles i took your advice and had my eyes tested and got some spectacles.
then i watched the game again and there definetly was a tackle as you correctly said.
the ball was still within 1 metre of the tackle and Mc caw was not entitled to play the ball as he was lying on the ground.
the ref should have awarded a penalty to the springboks.
my apologies for not agreeing with you in the first instance but at least some good came out of it as i now am able to see much better than in the past and this will make me a lot happier .

if there was a tackle as you say then the tackle is over if the ball is not within a metre of the tackle
however i do not have a ruler to measure.
but to have my eyes tested is sound advice for which i thank you
