Front row boost for Cheetahs
10 Oct 2012
Adriaan Strauss and Coenie Oosthuizen will front the Free State Cheetahs’ assault against WP at Newlands on Saturday.
The Springbok duo will be rushed into the starting line-up, with Strauss taking over the captaincy from centre Robert Ebersohn. Hooker Hercu Liebenberg and tighthead prop Ross Geldenhuys drop to the bench as a result.
There’s one other change as Hendro Scholtz starts at openside flank in place of the injured Lappies Labuschagne.
Free State Cheetahs – 15 Hennie Daniller, 14 Nico Scheepers, 13 Robert Ebersohn, 12 Andries Strauss, 11 Raymond Rhule, 10 Sias Ebersohn, 9 Sarel Pretorius, 8 Philip van der Walt, 7 Francois Uys, 6 Hendro Scholtz, 5 Izak van der Westhuizen, 4 Carl Wegner, 3 Coenie Oosthuizen, 2 Adriaan Strauss (c), 1 Marcel van der Merwe.
Subs: 16 Hercu Liebenberg, 17 Ross Geldenhuys, 18 Waltie Vermeulen, 19 Davon Raubenheimer, 20 Tewis de Bruyn, 21 Philip Snyman, 22 Ryno Benjamin.

Yo Coenie DRAGON listen up. If you ever play loosehead again, just recall all the tricks of the trade that Tony Woodcock applied last Saturday

Interested to watch Carl Wegner. I feel that Cheetahs should have grabbed Ruan Botha and Paul Willimse from the Lions, as they would both make the 22 in S15 next yr. Ah well.

How many times did Woodcock put his hand on the ground at scrum time, and not one penalty. I have never seen why he is so highly rated by the Kiwis, he has a lot of test caps now. Jannie Dup taught him how to scrum the last few matches.

@blik-3:
I agree to a point about Woodcock. he has not being as dominating as in past. First Irish prop bend him good then Jannie although I do not rate Jannie that highly.
Thomas Domingo is the worlds best scrummaging loosehead IMO
