Province power into play-offs
13 Oct 2012
SIMON BORCHARDT saw Western Province thrash the Free State Cheetahs 36-15 at Newlands to set up a Currie Cup semi-final against the Golden Lions at Ellis Park.
The hosts had a simple objective coming into this match – win to get into the play-offs and remove the possibility of having to play two promotion-relegation matches against the EP Kings (which the last-placed Cheetahs will now almost certainly have to do).
WP welcomed back seven Springboks and Free State two, which became one on the 23-minute mark when tighthead prop Coenie Oosthuizen left the field with what appeared to be a back or neck injury.
Province’s first two tries were both scored by Boks, with Jean de Villiers diving over in the right-hand corner after a clever chip kick from Gerhard van den Heever had been collected by Nick Groom 10 phases earlier, while Andries Bekker was perhaps lucky to get the green light from the TMO after he seemed to lose the ball over the line.
When flanker Deon Fourie was driven over from a rolling maul just before half-time, the hosts were out to a 22-3 lead. WP coach Allister Coetzee clearly thought the win was in the bag as he substituted Bekker soon after.
Province added another two tries in the third quarter, though Fourie and No 8 Duane Vermeulen, before flanker Francois Uys and replacement back Philip Snyman scored for the Cheetahs in the final five minutes to repair some of the damage to their points difference (as far as the log is concerned).

Come on the Cheaters!
Wouldn’t it be awesome if the “mighty cupless” WP finish last?
Dragoons.
13 Oct 2012, 16:31 pm
@LieweLuiperdtjie, congrats on your EP Kings victory!
13 Oct 2012, 16:34 pm
Think this is going to be a good hard game of rugby, the result will be interesting
13 Oct 2012, 16:36 pm
I don’t think WP can finish last.
13 Oct 2012, 16:41 pm
*****!!!!, Cheetahs have to win to avoid a relegation/promotion game against the Kings next week and WP need to win to make it into the semi’s, so its set up to be a cracker!!!
13 Oct 2012, 16:54 pm
@XhosaKid-5: pfffft why you kakin your pants for the FS? they going to moer those politcal harlots.
13 Oct 2012, 17:10 pm
The only political whores around the SA rugby scene are the PussyKittens ’cause SARU was too scared to have kicked them out of Super rugby years ago.
13 Oct 2012, 17:10 pm
Come on WP!
13 Oct 2012, 17:13 pm
JdV you beaut!!!
13 Oct 2012, 17:14 pm
WP jou lekker ding!
13 Oct 2012, 17:15 pm
@RL-6: “Harlots” I haven’t heard or read that word since my late uncle : ) !!!, good memories, he called good whiskey ” mother’s milk”
13 Oct 2012, 17:15 pm
Ive said it before, Joe Pieterson has the best flat fast pass in SA Rugby. Made space for JDV perfectly.
13 Oct 2012, 17:15 pm
Min 8th
Try WP
The ball fails to get Habana’s way although he’s always available
13 Oct 2012, 17:19 pm
@Hondo-13: You blerry moron. The defense cut off the possibility of passing to Habana. Go clean yourself up.
@stormersboy-12: It was a beaut, wasn’t it.
13 Oct 2012, 17:19 pm
How did the FS kicker miss.
13 Oct 2012, 17:22 pm
@mikeybrass-14: We’ve seen way too many floating passes which accomplish nothing, just give the defence time to drift and cover.
Joe does that perfectly.
13 Oct 2012, 17:23 pm
Outstanding defense on Rhule, Habana,
13 Oct 2012, 17:24 pm
@stormersboy-16: Joe is hugely under-rated. Better than Kitchner and Lambie at fullback imo.
13 Oct 2012, 17:30 pm
Coenie is injured. Looks like his lower back.
13 Oct 2012, 17:30 pm
@mikeybrass-17: Ja great back tackle by Brian.
On the Joe point, i agree with you. he brings much more to a team than Kirschner which is why I’m a bit perplexed by the Jaco Taute move.
I would love to have jaco in CT, but I wouldn’t give him a guarantee starting 15 spot.
Also nice to see Kitshoff owning Oosthuizen.
Better Loosehead every time.
13 Oct 2012, 17:32 pm
Coenie was taken out by Eben at a ruck. His back was injured as he hit the ground.
13 Oct 2012, 17:33 pm
@stormersboy-20: I don’t believe the media. AC will be able to swop players around – JdV and JdJ, Aplon, Joe, Taute, etc. He can rotate.
13 Oct 2012, 17:34 pm
@mikeybrass-21: Yes, but my point stands, Steven is going to be the best loosehead in SA very soon.
13 Oct 2012, 17:37 pm
@mikeybrass-22: Hope so, he’s a great squad player and there’ll be some injuries for sure.
I’d put money on JDv going out at some stage, JDJ to 12 and Taute to 13 could be a great combo.
13 Oct 2012, 17:37 pm
Try Province. Nice one langes.
13 Oct 2012, 17:38 pm
The rule is stupid. Bekker was clearly not in control of the ball.
13 Oct 2012, 17:38 pm
How the hell is that a try. TMO is befok!
13 Oct 2012, 17:39 pm
@stormersboy-23: Ginger is introducing Geldenhuys’s face to his ********.
13 Oct 2012, 17:39 pm
@mikeybrass-28: butt-hole is the ***
13 Oct 2012, 17:40 pm
What a rubbish TMO decision. It was clear that he lost the ball. Even the TMO agrees about this. How can the fact that part of his hand was still touching the ball result in a try? Explain this to someone new to the game – they’ll laugh at you.
13 Oct 2012, 17:40 pm
@stormersboy-24: JdJ and Taute as the long-term centre pairing would be cool, with Bache as the backup 12.
Pity we are losing JP du Plessis.
13 Oct 2012, 17:40 pm
That ain’t a knock either by Habana lol
13 Oct 2012, 17:41 pm
Never ever …no try even andries said no try…. Van blommenstein could cost cheetahs a cc place in 2013… Alsi is rhule playing? Oh yes he is…. Lol a non feature! Kak as di bokke eers terug is ne rhule jou quota
13 Oct 2012, 17:41 pm
@katman-30: I don’t understand either. It used to be that you have to be in control of the ball. Bekker clearly wasn’t!
13 Oct 2012, 17:42 pm
Deon Fourie causing all sorts of chaos at the breakdown since he moved to 6. We will miss him next year for sure. On current form the best 6 flank in SA.
13 Oct 2012, 17:43 pm
Coenie has been taken to hospital for examination.
13 Oct 2012, 17:43 pm
@stormersboy-35: Outstanding.
13 Oct 2012, 17:43 pm
@suffer_guy-33:
Can he play at the first place?
13 Oct 2012, 17:44 pm
@katman-30: It’s technically correct. all that has to happen for a try to be scored is downward pressure. He does not have to have control of the ball as in the past.
He had lost control for sure but the ball was still touching him. No daylight if you get what I mean.
@mikeybrass-31: Where is JP going?
13 Oct 2012, 17:45 pm
@ suffer_guy : FS will find it difficult to win let alone you blaming a TMO decision on one try
13 Oct 2012, 17:45 pm
LOL Cheetahs not getting a chance at scrum time.
WP light 5 no longer.
13 Oct 2012, 17:46 pm
@mikeybrass-34: And why do they give these drooling windowlickers the task of making TMO decisions? 4 out of 5 times, when our TMOs must decide, they mumble and fumble through not only their basic knowledge of the rules, but also their basic knowledge of the language. They don’t get what the ref is asking and they don’t know how to explain their wildly inaccurate take on the law.
13 Oct 2012, 17:46 pm
What a maul!!!! TRY!
13 Oct 2012, 17:47 pm
Superb!!!!!
@katman-42: He explained the situation perfectly. He had lost control but was STILL touching the ball when it was grounded. Technically perfect.
13 Oct 2012, 17:48 pm
@stormersboy-39: That’s clearly wrong then. The first thing that happened was that he lost the ball to the ground. The fact that part of his hand (and not even the open palm and or fingers) was resting on the ball should not result in a try. And if the ref panel reckons it does, then this law needs serious attention.
13 Oct 2012, 17:48 pm
@stormersboy-39: Ja it’s technically a try and the TMO’s explanation was clear. However, it is a stupid rule change imo.
There was talk that JP is off to the Sharks, prior to any talk over Taute.
Ginger is playing with the Cheets pack.
13 Oct 2012, 17:49 pm
No come back from 20:3, game’s over
Bekker dubious try killed the Cheetahs, so i it seemed
13 Oct 2012, 17:50 pm
Amazing that it’s Eben’s first CC appearance. But he’s played several Springbok games.
Same thing happened with Schalk.
13 Oct 2012, 17:50 pm
@Hondo-47: Cheets are getting slaughtered, you moron.
13 Oct 2012, 17:51 pm
@katman-30:
LOL, you didn’t actually think that WP would lose this game and have to endure a play-off did you?
Did you also think that Taute’s cap had nothing to do with his signing for WP?
Do you think that ‘flat pass’ for WP is that and not 5 meter’s forward (JdV threw no passes in the RC that weren’t forward or into the stands).
Still amazed that WP supporters think there team has ‘got what it takes’ after zero silverware since Moses was driftng down the Nile – but still have ‘The best players’.
Do you think it’s of no consequence that the Bok performance is indirectly proportionate to the number of WP players in the squad (year after year)?
‘Catch a wake-up’ seems so lame in the face of reality year in, year out. Sigh.
When will people get a brain (I’d be happy if they get 2 brain cells to rub together).
13 Oct 2012, 17:51 pm
We need to keep up the strong pack showing and a decisive moving backline in the second half.
Perhaps pull off our Boks around the 60 min mark.
13 Oct 2012, 17:51 pm
Rhule looking like a habana of a season ago on a bad day… Where is transformation?
13 Oct 2012, 17:52 pm
@stormersboy-35:
Hes been very good. Best 6 in SA? Ye maybe considering Brussow, Cotzee, Kolisi all not been playing in CC as well as guys like Flow blaying abroad, not the greatest of opposition.
13 Oct 2012, 17:52 pm
@katman-45: Seems like a travesty in this case, true, even if technically correct.
13 Oct 2012, 17:53 pm
Kitshoff killed Coenie dead @ scrumtime. It was actually Coenie’s attempted tackle on Etsebeth when he came on a standoff where he got injured.
13 Oct 2012, 17:54 pm
@Guns-53: Marcel plays 7 for the Sharks. Agree that 6 is Flow’s best position.
13 Oct 2012, 17:54 pm
“Falling in the hole” is a new rule?
13 Oct 2012, 17:54 pm
@Guns-53: So are you agreeing with me then??
13 Oct 2012, 17:56 pm
22 – 3 at half time
Is this a ‘Stormer’ of a game?
Perhaps not!
13 Oct 2012, 17:57 pm
@Petri-57: its a cape thing…
13 Oct 2012, 17:58 pm
@carol-59: Yeah we are not even missing Monty!
13 Oct 2012, 18:00 pm
@mikeybrass-56: Yes thats right.I think he did play 6 a few times though at the start of the season but his actual play def more like a 7/8. Flow def a 6 then again he does pretty much the same Job for Bath as a 6 just wearing 7…
13 Oct 2012, 18:01 pm
@stormersboy-61:
Unlike me!
Where is he these days?
13 Oct 2012, 18:02 pm
@stormersboy-58: Yes..
WTF ever happened to klein Stegman ?
13 Oct 2012, 18:02 pm
Guns you confusing me
13 Oct 2012, 18:02 pm
@carol-63: Hiyas Carol. All good your side?
13 Oct 2012, 18:05 pm
Etsebeth drilled Bismarck and Coenie. Eben twice the enforcer Bakkies was.
My vote for player of the year.
13 Oct 2012, 18:05 pm
@carol-63: He’s around.
@Guns-64: ja I think he’s been injured several times this year. Not sure where he is in terms of fitness at the moment.
Still a good player.
13 Oct 2012, 18:07 pm
I hate to be one of THOSE killjoys, but I can’t help feeling the same about WP as I do about the ABs when it comes to favouritism. It’s not an evil conspiracy – no one called a meeting and decided on a plan. But they’ve been talked up in the media for just about a century as the darlings of SA rugby, much as the ABs in world rugby. Each player has this crafted media persona with nicknames and off the pitch interest stories. The commentators get sucked into this mess too, creaming their chinos at everything that Jean or Schalla or Bekker does. And sadly, so do the refs and TMOs. Their latest crush is Deon Fourie, and his “revelation” at 6. All this means is that they make him this self-fulfilling prophecy, in that he gets granted the leeway at ruck time to excel the way everyone wants him to. Just as McCaw is. It really doesn’t sit well, and is the reason why it’s so easy to dislike teams like WP and the ABs.
13 Oct 2012, 18:08 pm
@trupisero-66:
Hi Trupsi
Excellent here thanks. How are you and yours?
13 Oct 2012, 18:09 pm
@katman-69: Come over to the fun side of the Island fella.
You”ll never want to go back
You can have your own nickname.
13 Oct 2012, 18:09 pm
OCO STFU
13 Oct 2012, 18:11 pm
Eben treating Van Der Walt like a rag doll.
Superb.
13 Oct 2012, 18:11 pm
@stormersboy-68:
Well if you see Percival Colin Montgomery in any of the Camps Bay Coffee Shops or running about with his surfboard please tell him that Carol from England is probably coming over again in March and THIS TIME HE HAD BETTER FLIPPING WELL TAKE ME OUT FOR A BEER !!!
Do I have to beg?
13 Oct 2012, 18:12 pm
@stormersboy-71: I just think of that fcken Newlands stadium announcer, and that pretty much sums up how I feel about Cape rugby. It feels like one big Paarl Gym old boys club, where everyone’s dad has a wine farm and everyone’s mom has her hair done twice a week. No thanks.
13 Oct 2012, 18:12 pm
@katman-69: Um……did you see that hyped up try that just got scored!?
13 Oct 2012, 18:13 pm
Good try by Fourie, I aint a fan of his but he is having a very good game
13 Oct 2012, 18:13 pm
Fourie again. Best openside in SA by a countrymile! Gonna miss him!
13 Oct 2012, 18:14 pm
@W.P-78: No he aint, Brussow is
13 Oct 2012, 18:14 pm
cheetahs facing possible relegation to the first division, yet will contest super rugby next year.
lions, reigning cc champs, likely to be cc premiere division champs or second placed team this year, but will not be contesting super rugby next year.
strange day indeed….
and it will only get stranger, with the kings in the super mix from next year.
this has all the ingredients for what could be a kickass local soap opera ala the wild.

To be honest Cheetahs plain rubbish at the moment
13 Oct 2012, 18:15 pm
At this point I would like to remind Skop that I told him Fourie was a better 6 than a 2.
13 Oct 2012, 18:15 pm
@stormersboy-76: Hey, he’s not a bad player, and that was a well worked try. But I can pretty much guarantee you that half the steals he makes at the rucks would have been blown up up as penalties for the other team if he was a less fashionable loosie from, say, Kimberley. Ditto for McCaw’s ruck success.
13 Oct 2012, 18:15 pm
@carol-74: I’ll pas it on Carol.
I would say however that sometimes one is disappointed when one meets one’s heroes, if you know what I mean…..
It’s often better to admire the legend than the actual reality.
13 Oct 2012, 18:15 pm
@carol-70: All good thanks. Not really looking forward to my annual trek to London in December – time that could rather be spent on a beach in Moz
13 Oct 2012, 18:15 pm
WP is really walking all over Free State. Did not expect this, thought it was going to be a nailbiter.
13 Oct 2012, 18:15 pm
Sigh. Eben. Close up. Breathless.
13 Oct 2012, 18:16 pm
@i_love_u_bakkiesbotha-80:
13 Oct 2012, 18:17 pm
@katman-83: Ja I’m just pushing your buttons.
I’d still pick Kolisi ahead of him in a fit back row of Vermeulen, Elstadt and Kolisi.
13 Oct 2012, 18:18 pm
OCO is becoming a one-post legend in his own lifetime
13 Oct 2012, 18:20 pm
@stormersboy-84:
It is a risk I am prepared to take!
13 Oct 2012, 18:20 pm
@Dawn-87: ja, think he’s tired
13 Oct 2012, 18:21 pm
@trupisero-85:
London in winter….Are you mad?
13 Oct 2012, 18:21 pm
@ SL : Yeah I’m sure he is – he hasn’t played half the games. Fourie owned him the last time they played. Its hard to admit isn’t it lol
13 Oct 2012, 18:22 pm
@Treehugger-86: The WP pack is formidable with the returning Boks, No weaknesses anywhere.
Their dominance isn’t at all surprising.
The cheetahs have only had to give up two players, we had to give up 8 for some weeks.
13 Oct 2012, 18:22 pm
@Treehugger-86:
Huggs, how are the critters?
13 Oct 2012, 18:22 pm
@katman-69:
hehe
this is mostly true but the obvious point of major departure between the ab’s and wp is that wp do not have the wherewithal to cheat their way to success.
@stormersboy-71:
katters..?.. katerjak..?. katjie..?.
13 Oct 2012, 18:23 pm
@Dawn-87:
Are you having a ‘moment’?
13 Oct 2012, 18:24 pm
@i_love_u_bakkiesbotha-97:
We’ll let him choose, we’re democratic like that
13 Oct 2012, 18:26 pm
@carol-93: not by choice I assure you! Company annual awards evening at Grosvenor House which I can’t escape.
13 Oct 2012, 18:26 pm
@carol-74: If I were you I’d get over here around Christmas time. I think they’re putting on a romantic outdoors dinner for you and Percy at Kirstenbosch gardens. I read something about it in the papers – Carol by candlelight. Sounds great.
13 Oct 2012, 18:28 pm
@katman-101: baahaahaahaaa!!!!

13 Oct 2012, 18:32 pm
@stormersboy-104: But to compare him to Honiball?? eish boet not even close
13 Oct 2012, 18:32 pm
@trupisero-100:
Gird your loins Trupsi, The Grosvenor is hardly a hardship!!
13 Oct 2012, 18:33 pm
And Rhule is not kuk
13 Oct 2012, 18:34 pm
@sharks_lover-108: No I wouldn’t go that far obviously.
13 Oct 2012, 18:34 pm
@Dawn-105: has its moments..going to London in December is not one of them.
13 Oct 2012, 18:34 pm
@ Stormersboy, they playing very well, didn’t know that rule about Bekkers try, always thought you had to have control.
@ Carol, huzzit Doll, all well and hectic thank you. Weather just utter cr*p, misty and rainy for the last couple of weeks, oh the semi blind hemaphrodite is now going to be with me permanently, got her functioning and happy. you looking fabulous in your holiday photos.
13 Oct 2012, 18:35 pm
Regardless of this result, I’d be amazed if the Kings could beat this FS team.
They would have a shot against Griquas, but not the Cheetahs.
13 Oct 2012, 18:35 pm
@katman-101:
Oh Ha Ha….
13 Oct 2012, 18:36 pm
So semi-finals will be Sharks vs. Bulls and Lions vs. WP.
I reckon we have another Sharks v. WP final on our hands folks !
Can’t wait. That’s if WP don’t choke in the semi-final.
13 Oct 2012, 18:37 pm
@Treehugger-113: Ja, the rule changed a couple of years ago, many tries have since been scored by simply applying “downward pressure” instead of having control.
13 Oct 2012, 18:38 pm
@i_love_u_bakkiesbotha-107: I see you guys are all willing your team into the semi-final where they will get fcked up in Durban. You guys not had enough of the Sharks kicking your butts yet ?
13 Oct 2012, 18:38 pm
@carol-109: its the bloody cold that gets me – leave here its 36c. Arrive at Heathrow its -6c! Feel like Sanka from Cool Runnings and wear every piece of clothing I own
13 Oct 2012, 18:39 pm
@Dusky-116: Bring it on i say.
13 Oct 2012, 18:39 pm
@stormersboy-111: lol Boet i know you wouldnt, but Skinstad did, the damn idjut
13 Oct 2012, 18:40 pm
WP-Bulls final at Newlands.
13 Oct 2012, 18:40 pm
@stormersboy-117: is downward pressure actually needed still? Methinks you simply have to be in contact with the ball.
13 Oct 2012, 18:40 pm
@Dusky-116:
bulls vs lions final
bulls to take it
i will bet money on this outcome, you should do the same
13 Oct 2012, 18:40 pm
@sharks_lover-121: Ja typical KZN boy, given to gross exaggeration.
13 Oct 2012, 18:41 pm
@stormersboy-122: Best you hope for that. Only way WP will win the Currie Cup this year.
13 Oct 2012, 18:41 pm
@i_love_u_bakkiesbotha-124: Monopoly money I hope…
13 Oct 2012, 18:41 pm
The 7pm game will be a dress rehearsal for the final. Same teams, same venue.
13 Oct 2012, 18:41 pm
@Dusky-118:
keep talking…tough guy…
13 Oct 2012, 18:42 pm
@Stormersboy…mm then I have ignorantly been flueking refs and throwing my toys out of the cot for quite a while now
13 Oct 2012, 18:42 pm
@trupisero-123: You could be right, we should check with pissant when he pops in later.
I bet his site will have something on it. There are some very knowledgeable journos on there.
13 Oct 2012, 18:42 pm
@i_love_u_bakkiesbotha-124: You Pretoria okes are a bit thick so I would imagine you would bet money on that outcome.
13 Oct 2012, 18:42 pm
“Sanka! You dead yet?”
13 Oct 2012, 18:43 pm
@stormersboy-131: there you are – as we speak a try gets awarded on that basis
13 Oct 2012, 18:43 pm
O tog, that was a pretty kak conversion attempt from De Bruyn.
13 Oct 2012, 18:43 pm
@trupisero-127:
no, but it will feel like monopoly when i throw the winnings all over the lounge
13 Oct 2012, 18:43 pm
@Treehugger-130: But that’s required. You don’t have to be in the right to do that, it’s every proper fan’s prerogative!
13 Oct 2012, 18:43 pm
@Treehugger-113:
Will you get to Durban to see any live games this season? I told the guys here last weekend I saw John Smit play, I believe it was his first game for about 6 months.
Keep up the good work at the sanctuary, those critters need you!
13 Oct 2012, 18:43 pm
@Dawn-133: Ya man
13 Oct 2012, 18:44 pm
@trupisero-134: Yip, whats good for the goose is also good for the free staters,
13 Oct 2012, 18:46 pm
@trupisero-119:
Just need a decent jacket Trupsi!
Bet you see the local girls walking about in mini skirts and vest tops in the snow in London and wonder how they survive!!
I am not so hardy! It is boots and a scarf for me.
13 Oct 2012, 18:46 pm
@stormersboy-140: their goose is cooked I’m afraid
13 Oct 2012, 18:46 pm
@i_love_u_bakkiesbotha-129: I have been worried about the Bulls in previous years but this year I am super confident. Bulls will get sent home with a hiding and hopefully it shows just how kak some of Heyneke Meyers blue eyed boys are. Sharks at full strength will trample the Bulls with their fragile, useless flyhalf and their diabolically poor fullback.
13 Oct 2012, 18:48 pm
@katman-128: I sincerely hope the Lions will field a different team.
13 Oct 2012, 18:48 pm
@carol-138: Me will be agt the semi finals next week
13 Oct 2012, 18:48 pm
@Stormersboy
13 Oct 2012, 18:50 pm
@Dusky-143: Sharks the form team for sure, but come playoffs it can sometimes go in an unexpected direction.
But barring a large upset, looks like a Sharks hosted final.
13 Oct 2012, 18:50 pm
Prawn if rhule was white u’d be marikana striking and petrol bonming
13 Oct 2012, 18:50 pm
Etsebeth surely MOM?
13 Oct 2012, 18:51 pm
Well played WP, now for the Lions.
13 Oct 2012, 18:52 pm
@sharks_lover-149: Agreed. head and shoulders above the rest.
13 Oct 2012, 18:52 pm
What?
13 Oct 2012, 18:53 pm
@Carol …those days are long over for me, am grateful just to be able to watch games on TV no. Only leave the property to do the things I do and meetings, which is far to often.
If you get down Durban way though I will make an effort to come see you, but just depends.
13 Oct 2012, 18:53 pm
Yup as i called, kid had a great game
13 Oct 2012, 18:53 pm
But they will endure with those players. As I said, the Loftus loyalty to some players regardless of their form like the ultra useless Derick Hougaard always puzzled me. Its that ‘Ossewa – ons vir jou’ sacrificial mentality. Other Loftus lieflings were Anton Leonard (average at best), Ettienne Botha (reasonable player) and at the moment – Pierre Spies, Mornetjie Steyn…..all average to kuk players.
13 Oct 2012, 18:54 pm
Mission accomplished
13 Oct 2012, 18:55 pm
@Dusky-143:
you’re probably right.
sharks playing good rugby with a settled squad. especially like their offloading, fluidity of passing, running, support play. the form final really should be sharks – lions, with either likely to be champs.
bulls have been stop start, very erratic and prone to struggling if the kicker is kak.
i’m hoping they click on the day, or dig deep and grind it out if not.
13 Oct 2012, 18:56 pm
@suffer_guy-148: When Rhule turns white, that will be the day you will learn how to spell.
13 Oct 2012, 18:57 pm
@Dusky-158:
13 Oct 2012, 18:58 pm
@i_love_u_bakkiesbotha-157: Problem for you guys is the urge to play Morne at 10 is too big. Although he is probably better than Fouche to be honest.
13 Oct 2012, 18:59 pm
Congrats Wp and their supporters, good victory, One can say Cheetahs were KAK, but you can only play whats in front of you.
mission accomplished
13 Oct 2012, 19:01 pm
@sharks_lover-145:
Great, something to look forward too!
Get your Mr Price shirt out.
13 Oct 2012, 19:02 pm
@carol-162: lol
13 Oct 2012, 19:05 pm
@Treehugger-153:
I would love to do a roadtrip right through SA but feel an armed bodyguard would be quite useful for that sort of adventure!
Did find Durban a teeny bit on the scary side!
13 Oct 2012, 19:06 pm
Well done Province.
Time to give something back to your loyal fans.
13 Oct 2012, 19:08 pm
@Dusky-155:
i will save this post for posterity and sing it back to you if the sharkies flop… remember… they’ve done it before.
minute 78: try – albert van den berg (sharks)
minute 79 : missed conversion – frans steyn (sharks)
minute 79: substitution (tactical) heini Adams for Fourie du Preez (bulls)
minute 82: try! – bryan habana (bulls)
minute 83 conversion – derick hougaard (bulls)
minute 83: full time
minute 84: BOOM!
bulls 20 – sharks 19
13 Oct 2012, 19:15 pm
@i_love_u_bakkiesbotha-166: That my buddy was in a completely different era for the Bulls. The canyon between the quality of that Bulls side vs the Bulls now is already huge and still growing. So try stay within context. Not only do you guys not have Bryan Habana but also not a drunk Steve Walsh.
13 Oct 2012, 19:19 pm
I only mention Habana because he scored the try. Also missing are Bakkies, Victor, Fourie, Gary, Gurthro, Danie……..and the guys you have coming through are so far quite average at best.
14 Oct 2012, 00:19 am
I haven’t read the entire thread so I hope I’m not repeating a point. I wouldve loved to see Juan de Jongh at 12 with JP du Plessis at 13 or just maybe that happens next week. That sounds more exciting that the de Villiers de Jongh combination. Old man de Villiers must be shown the door. He doesn’t allow a no13 to shine. WP & Bok rugby was just lucky that Fourie was that good at 13. But well done to WP. Now if they can loosen the proverbial noose from their neck so that we don’t choke …

@Dwarslat-67:
Young Player of the Year.
Definitely.

15 Oct 2012, 08:14 am
