i defended meyers selection of steyn as first choose FH at the start of the season as i thought that it would be logical for him to first instal winning momentum into the team as a whole before grooming in a all round FH

the cadidates to take over should have been Lambie or Jantjies

the idea that goosen could start a test this season worried me. i know everyone and their gran loves this kid, and i to think he has great potential. but he looked frail compared to other FH in super rugby

i was all for having him in the greater bok squad so he could get use to his team mates and understand the inviroment. but i thought our coaching staff had the gray matter between their heads to know that the best thing for goosen was to copy what NZ did with Carter, ie: bring him on in the last 5-10

remember how thin dan carter use to look, also when looking at the stats of our probible FHs lambie, elton, morne, grant, goosen.

The Scotland kick was slightly more difficult – at an angle and in appalling weather.

However – and I will be harsh on Lambie here – a Bok 10 should have been able to slot that.
