Ireland fullback Rob Kearney has been ruled out of the November internationals due to a back injury.
Kearney toured South Africa with the British & Irish Lions in 2009, and was, at the time, the best fullback on the planet.
His safe hands and anticipation under the high ball, as well as his ability to counter-attack, has always made him a valuable man when Ireland have battled the Springboks.
He was recently named the European Player of the Year, which makes the news of his injury even harder to swallow. Kearney will undergo surgery for his injury, and will be out of action for 10 weeks.
Ireland will host the Springboks in Dublin on 10 November.
