Sharks want Butch back
28 Oct 2012
Butch James is negotiating a return to the Sharks that would delay his retirement to July 2013.
James appeared to have ended his career with the Lions this year, but could have one last campaign with the Sharks in Super Rugby.
‘I haven’t signed yet,’ James told the Sunday Times. ‘It’s about 90% sure. I’ve been speaking to them and I’m keen to go. I’ll basically be the back-up flyhalf.’
John Plumtree has already said that Pat Lambie will be his first-choice No 10 in Super Rugby, but the Sharks coach would welcome a player of James’s experience.
‘Playing at 10 in this last Currie Cup just made me enjoy it again,’ said James. ‘I don’t want to in six months think I should have carried on playing. I won’t be able to come back then.’

Would be a good buy.
If Lambie get’s injured, the Sharks don’t have much in terms of cover (Bosman and Viljoen are okay, but not great).
Welcome home Butchie.

I am and always will be a great admirer of Butch James, the unsung hero of the 2007 WC imo…..
Still offers so much more than M Steyn….great acquisition by Sharks…..
