Louw could miss Bok tour
29 Oct 2012
Francois Louw sustained a neck injury in Bath’s win over Exeter and is doubtful for the Springboks’ tour to Europe.
Louw was included when Heyneke Meyer’s touring party was named on Sunday. However, reports from England indicate that the flanker hurt his neck in a Premiership match against Exeter and will be assessed by the Bath medical team this week.
‘Francois has got a bad bang on his head and it looks like he’s compacted the vertebrae on his neck so he’s in a lot of pain at the moment. I think it’s going to be a lot sorer in the morning so we will have to evaluate how he gets on,’ said Bath’s director of rugby, Gary Gold.
If Louw is passed fit, he will play for Bath against London Welsh this weekend before linking up with the Boks.

Bad news for the Boks if this dragon can’t play !!

Most imporat player for the boks in terms of the loose trio, also no replacements on the horizon unless HM calls up D Fourie as #6.

@goodstuff-2: 100%, the only alternative.

This is when someone like Fourie would have provided options although Britz may now be in the frame a bit more as he can and does turn over his fair share. If we are getting turned over with regularity and the opposition is getting fast ball then the Bokke must have the right balance in the 22 to change the flow of the game by introducing Britz

Mmm tricky… Poor Brussouw is never going to play under HM…

I cannot see HM lasting until RWC 2015 unless SARU is happy with a mediocre Bok team!!

@race of tan-6: So you are calling the current selected squad mediocre. When he tries nothing people kak themselves, when he does they kak themselves. Pathetic

Get D Fourie into the mix immidiately Heyneke!!

Now Fourie is the saving grace of SA rugby……o fark!

@race of tan-6:
Well they didn’t seem to mind last time.

Would be very interested to see if D Fourie considered. Heineke Meyer likes to use the expression “horses for courses”. Let’s see if this is turning into a real obstacle course. (Horses for obstacle courses)

Bloody hell this is bad news, looks like we are back to a loose trio of ball carriers and yet we kick the f…….g ball away !! I am not enjoying current Bok rugby and its cr*p Mngmnt ..
If you analyze the players who turn over ball for Boks –
Habs – injured
Biz – injured
Coenie – injured
Flow – injured
What the hell is going on and why cant HM sort out our cover in this position/style as opposed to wingers and hookers .. ?

evry team needs a fetcher, even if that person play hooker like with bismark, jus someone that always around to poach the ball
eg: fourie in the currie cup final

As we don’t have another fetcher knocking on the door with Heinrich out, might as well take Dewald as the next loosie in line. People don’t seem to acknowledge that if someone is good at Currie Cup or even Super Rugby, they sometimes just don’t ‘fit’ into Test match rugby. A good example being Keegan who pretty much has the run of the park in Super Rugby but looked like a rabbit in headlights when playing against England this year. Likewise Deon Fourie can shine all he likes in Currie Cup but wiil probably have a minimal impact on a Test match. Dewald looks comfortable in a Springbok jersey.

Deon Fourie is the answer. 4 x MOM in the CC. Get a life HM!

Heard confirmation that Francois should be ok for the first test.
Have your say
