Let’s not forget that in 2011 WP won both the U19 and U21 ABSA “Currie Cups” and in 2012 won the U19 and was beaten in the finals of the U21 competition(6 U21 WP players could not play in this due to playing in the senior side’s final).
All in all two really good years for WP!

The CHOKES might have been the team with all the Springboks , but at this present time with all retirements and injuries , the Springbok players that we possess now are at the best workmanlike . There are a few quality players but not many . What we have seen on Saturday is the beginning of a very bright future for Springbok rugby with all the talented youngsters coming through .

Package it anyway you like, but the WP which played through the CC was not the same animal that topped the league in the S15.

Suggesting the CC title is somewhere near compensation for failing at the business end of the S15 is like suggesting the average Crusaders supporter is chuffed at what has been achieved this year.

Once both Canterbury and WP get over the euphoria of the moment, which is about due to expire, looking back will on 2012 will not be that rosy.

The fact that basically 10 mins is what separated WP from being CC champs to be regulated to the first division mabe gives some context to our win. As great a result as it is I do feel we need to stay grounded ,
