Wales depend on rookie prop
6 Nov 2012
Wales tighthead prop Aaron Jarvis will make his Test debut against Argentina in Cardiff this Saturday.
Jarvis comes in for the injured Adam Jones (knee) after showing great form for Ospreys up front. Jarvis, born and bred in England, qualifies through his Welsh grandmother.
Wales are also without flank Dan Lydiate (ankle) and outside centre Jonathan Davies (groin). Josh Turnbull and Scott Williams start in their spots respectively.
A timely boost is the inclusion of inside centre Jamie Roberts, who last played for the Dragons in March.
Wales - 15 Leigh Halfpenny, 14 Alex Cuthbert, 13 Scott Williams, 12 Jamie Roberts, 11 George North, 10 Rhys Priestland, 9 Tavis Knoyle, 8 Toby Faletau, 7 Sam Warburton (c), 6 Josh Turnbull, 5 Ian Evans, 4 Alun-Wyn Jones, 3 Aaron Jarvis, 2 Matthew Rees, 1 Gethin Jenkins
Subs: 16 Richard Hibbard, 17 Ryan Bevington, 18 Paul James, 19 Rob McCusker, 20 Justin Tipuric, 21 Mike Phillips, 22 James Hook, 23 Liam Williams

Dominant team but without Adam Jones and Jonathan Davies not so strong.
How many of these players would make a super rugby squad?
Roberts, North, Halfpenny, Warburton, Jenkins and Alun Wyn Jones I would think.

@Rhys7-1: Dan Lydiate will also make that list and is a big loss to the team. Toby Faletau would also not look out of place.
Have your say
