Pumas recall Contepomi
7 Nov 2012
Felipe Contempomi will start at centre when Argentina front Wales in Cardiff this Saturday.
The 35-year-old veteran was ineligible for the recent Rugby Championship due to club commitments in France. Despite not being named in Argentina’s initial squad for the November Tests, he has now been included in the starting line-up for this weekend’s Test against Wales.
Argentina coach Santiago Phelan has opted to pair Gonzalo Tiesi with Contepomi in midfield. Juan Martin Hernandez will start at fullback with Nicolas Sanchez preferred at pivot.
Lock Patricio Albacete has been ruled out with an eye injury, and so flank Julio Farias Cabello will take his place in the second row.
Argentina – 15 Juan Martin Hernandez, 14 Gonzalo Camacho, 13 Gonzalo Tiesi, 12 Felipe Contepomi, 11 Juan Jose Imhoff, 10 Nicolas Sanchez, 9 Martin Landajo, 8 Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe (c), 7 Juan Manuel Leguizamon, 6 Leonardo Senatore, 5 Julio Farias Cabello, 4 Manuel Carizza, 3 Juan Figallo, 2 Eusebio Guinazu, 1 Marcos Ayerza.
Subs: 16 Agustin Creevy, 17 Bruno Postiglioni, 18 Juan Gomez, 19 Tomas Vallejos, 20 Tomas Leonardi, 21 Nicolas Vergallo, 22 Horacio Agulla, 23 Joaquin Tucule
