Michalak starts for France
8 Nov 2012
Frederic Michalak will start at flyhalf for France in their clash against the Wallabies on Saturday.
Michalak, who impressed at flyhalf during the team’s run in Argentina, has been preferred ahead of Francois Trinh-Duc. The former Sharks pivot has featured mainly at scrumhalf since his move to Toulon, but his limitted time at flyhalf hasn’t discouraged Les Bleus head coach Philippe Saint-Andre from giving him the No 10 jersey.
Scrumhalf Maxime Machenaud completes the halfback combination.
Castres prop Yannick Forestier make his debut, ahead of Thomas Domingo. Flank Yannick Nyanga also makes his first Test appearance since 2007.
Lock Pascal Pape takes over the captaincy from injured skipper Thierry Dusautoir.
France – 15 Brice Dulin, 14 Wesley Fofana, 13 Florian Fritz, 12 Maxime Mermoz, 11 Vincent Clerc, 10 Frederik Michalak, 9 Maxime Machenaud, 8 Louis Picamoles, 7 Fulgence Ouedraogo, 6 Yannick Nyanga, 5 Yoann Maestri, 4 Pascal Pape (c), 3 Nicolas Mas, 2 Dimitri Szarzewski, 1 Yannick Forestier.
Subs: 16 Benjamin Kayser, 17 Thomas Domingo, 18 Vincent Debaty, 19 Jocelino Suta, 20 Damien Chouly, 21 Morgan Parra, 22 Francois Trinh-Duc, 23 Yoann Huget.
