France change one for Pumas
16 Nov 2012
Lock Yoann Maestri is the only new inclusion in France’s run-on XV for their Test against Argentina on Saturday.
Maestri was a late withdrawal ahead of his team’s 33-6 thrashing of the Wallabies last weekend. However, he is fit for selection for the clash against the Pumas and comes in for second-rower Jocelino Suta.
The rest of the team remains unchanged, which sees former Sharks pivot Frederic Michalak continue to establish himself in the No 10 jersey after a star performance against Australia in Paris.
France - 15 Brice Dulin, 14 Wesley Fofana, 13 Florian Fritz, 12 Maxime Mermoz, 11 Vincent Clerc, 10 Frederic Michalak, 9 Maxime Machenaud, 8 Louis Picamoles, 7 Fulgence Ouedraogo, 6 Yannick Nyanga, 5 Yoann Maestri, 4 Pascal Pape (c), 3 Nicolas Mas, 2 Dimitri Szarzewski, 1 Yannick Forestier
Subs: 16 Benjamin Kayser, 17 Thomas Domingo, 18 Vincent Debaty, 19 Jocelino Suta, 20 Damien Chouly, 21 Morgan Parra, 22 François Trinh-Duc, 23 Yoann Huget.

who cares – WP are CC champs – suck on that Sharks biatches !!!

@brains_trust-2: Come on boet, don’t be a arogant ***. I am just as proud as you that our WP team won the CC, but let’s be the better people and rub it in only when required.
Anyway, really looking forward to this game. Both Pumas and Tricolas played great games of ruggas this weekend. Gonna be a classic grudge match, these two teams really hate each other, or the French hate the pumas for embarrasing them twice in the 2007 WC, lol.

this is gonna be a humdinger, looking forward to it.

@i_love_u_bakkiesbotha-4: The Argies own the French…… they owen their minds. And therein lies half the victory.

@The Sharks rugby pedigree is packaged as dog food-5: saint andre was whingeing earlier this year that the RC experience will push the argies past them but from what saw last weekend these frogs arent to be sneezed at…very robust bunch…

@The Sharks rugby pedigree is packaged as dog food-5:
froggies were ruthless against oz though.
if they play the same game i dont see the pumas pulling it off.

@Transformation-6: @i_love_u_bakkiesbotha-7: The Argies (well I guess it’s because throughout the years most of them have played their rugby in France) have more often than not had the Frogs number….
Ok, maybe not…
They raise themselves to some freakish levels when they run out against the Frogs. (Home and away)
I’m guessing this time will be no different.
Frogs had their good game last week….Argies to smother them
What the RC HAS done for the Argies, is bolster their attitude and execution in defence.
They’ve improved tremendously….. Let’s see if the hot and cold frogs can expose the Argies.
(I would love an Argie win here…)

@The Sharks rugby pedigree is packaged as dog food-8:
yip, am a huge, huge fan of arg rugby too but equally as much love the unpredicatble and entertaining nature of the ‘tails up’ running, passing and physicality of the french when they on song.
very good to watch a roused and spirited team of cockerels giving no quarter and taking the fight to the opposition.
lets be honest, they were screwed out of a world cup win. what a larf it was for joubert to rule ‘ball is in play, play on’ after kaino knocked on so blatantly within range of goal.

Keo writers still asleep today? Where are the new articles?

i honstly believe that must have been the most pathetic and dissapointing rwc winner ever… it will take some doing and time to out do that one.

Pumas can take this if they can manage the same intensity as last weekend. Difference between the Pumas of today and a few years ago is that they now have outside backs to match their very effective forwards. They used to be a monster scrum with a good scrummie and a couple of solid inside backs loitering behind the pack. But now, with the likes of Imhoff and Camacho and Amorosino, they can really punish you out wide. This is going to be a very tight game.
16 Nov 2012, 09:51 am
@katman-18: I’m looking forward to all the weekends games. They should all be good value I reckon.
16 Nov 2012, 09:59 am
@BrumbiesBoy-15: I’m in Cape Town and my day started at 5am, so what is your point?
16 Nov 2012, 10:17 am
Pape and Maestri is a very aggressive French lock combo, French equivalent of Bakkies and Etsebeth.
16 Nov 2012, 10:21 am
amarosino is the gas man…his run @ la plata for the argie try was fire…
freddie “purple patch” michalak destroyed aus & can be huge for Imiqhagi…
16 Nov 2012, 10:24 am
@Big Hit-21: lobbe vs picamoles…read vs parisse.
16 Nov 2012, 10:26 am
@Big Hit-21:
bakkies and eztebeth… there’s a locking partnership the potential of which the world is the poorer for not knowing.
16 Nov 2012, 10:29 am
@goodstuff-20: The point is: Don’t hold your breath waiting for articles etc, ‘cos they’re rather slow down there at the best of times (with some exceptions like you of course)!
P.S. I beat you by half an hour…
16 Nov 2012, 10:30 am
@Transformation-23: got to say Picamoles was beastly last weekend, he looks like an overgrown sixth former but I’m not sure there’s a more powerful ball-carrier in world rugby at present
16 Nov 2012, 10:32 am
frenchies and argies all on the same field together, looking hot and sweaty.
expect Dawn to lose control of certain bodily functions.

16 Nov 2012, 17:54 pm
@ryecatcher-30: Hello Bakkies.Have referred to you twice in this fashion.Belatedly looked up its origin.
Diogenes of Sinope.Very funny but a bit harsh to ascribe this to you.

Crucial game for the rankings, as Wales tumble down and Samoa have almost caught Ireland.
Have your say
