Lions sign Cronje

The Lions have announced eight new signings including former Stormers and Bulls flyhalf Lionel Cronje.

Cronje battled with injuries at the Stormers, and moved up to the Bulls last year with the hope of resurrecting his career. He has struggled for game time at the Pretoria franchise, and again injuries have restricted his involvement.

On Thursday, the Lions announced that Cronje would be joining the Johannesburg side, who were recently relegated from Super Rugby, for the 2013 season.

Other players that will link up with the Lions include Franco Mostert, Jacques van Rooyen, Robbie Coetzee, Hugo Kloppers, JJ Breedt, Stokkies Hanekom and Kobus de Kock.

    A Lions Challenge?! Is supposed to replace the 15 super rugby matches for 2013 to retain players comprising pickup games against rag bag sides costing the Lions time & money.
    What games are they telling the players Mitchell will coach them for?
    This is a bad situation looking worse.
