Ireland scored seven tries to thrash Argentina 46-24 in Dublin.

The hosts led 24-9 at half-time after tries to debutant winger Craig Gilroy, flyhalf Jonathan Sexton, South African-born hooker Richardt Strauss and fullback Simon Zebo.

Two tries from winger Tommy Bowe and another from Sexton sealed an emphatic win, although Argentina scored two consolation tries through replacement Tomas Leonardi and captain Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe in the last 10 minutes.

The result means that Ireland will be seeded for the 2015 World Cup, with Argentina slipping to No 9 in the rankings.
