Hore set for hefty ban
26 Nov 2012
New Zealand hooker Andrew Hore has been cited for an off-the-ball incident which subsequently hospitalised Wales lock Bradley Davies.
Hore hit Davies off the ball during the initial stages of last Saturday’s Test in Cardiff. The incident was missed by matchday officials, but Hore has now been cited and looks likely to receive a lengthy suspension.
The time and date of the hearing, before the IRB’s appointed independent judicial officer, have yet to be fixed.
All Blacks coach Steve Hansen expects the hooker to be sidelined for some time. Hansen did not say as much, but has already called for a replacement ahead of the coming Test against England.
Dane Coles is expected to start at Twickenham.

@willievz-642: Problem with that theory is that NZ tends to start slowly and finish strong. There seems to be a relationship between how often a team loses to NZ and how much they talk about the haka. Oz, RSA, France don’t seem to care much about it and win more often than than the Irish, Welsh, and English. Seems to be grasping at straws

@willievz-648:
If you think about it rationally, it’s actually pathetic to be sticking out your tongue and rolling your eyes at your opponents.
And to add to this… all the while threaten them that you will slit their throats. Seen in that context what Andrew Hore has done seems harmless.
And that hand moved downwards rhythmically? Is that to suggest that they will cut off the opponents ‘voëls’ ?
They go onto the park with a decidedly negative mindset…

@Sheriff-656: I really enjoy the Haka and thinks it provides a special edge to the occasion when we play them.
But certainly, those tongues and rolling eyes border on insanity.
I have watched AB tests with Canadians and Yanks before, and they were laughing at the Haka.

26 Nov 2012, 15:53 pm
@Mr Black-674:
If Philanderer is fit I would put him and Robbie P in and drop Tahir and Rudolph.
I would be happy for Kallis just to bat.
If Philanderer is not fit then Maclaren.
I don’t really rate his bowling though.
I would rather have had Lopsy there.
Lefties can cause havoc at the WACA.

@Mr Black-674:
Kleinveldt needs to lose some weight
26 Nov 2012, 15:57 pm
@gunther-678:
Forgot about philander, yes will like to see him.
Kallis might still be able to bat, but he cant run quickly and that upsets the run rate, i will not play him.

Law No 10.4(a): Striking another Player with a hand, arm or fist.
Lower End – 2 weeks
Middle Range – 5 weeks
Top End – 8+ weeks
Law No 10.4(a): Striking another Player with knee.
Lower End – 3 weeks
Middle Range – 8 weeks
Top End – 12+ weeks
Hore deserves 8 weeks, but he’ll probably only get four.
26 Nov 2012, 16:02 pm
@Mr Black-674:
Rudolph will play.
Smith
Alviro
Amla
Rudolph (only because Kallis and Duminy not there)
AB
Faf
Robbie P
Philander
Steyn
Kleinveldt
Morkel
26 Nov 2012, 16:05 pm
@Mr Black-682:
I’d pick him even if he was half fit.
The alternative is Dean Elgar.
Good player but not king Kallis.
@WP-Forever-686:
Give him a semester I say.
@katman-684:
Don’t mention the cannon.
26 Nov 2012, 16:06 pm
Why should Kleinveldt be everywhere
26 Nov 2012, 16:07 pm
@WP-Forever-686:
no, i doubt he’ll get four.
its a witch hunt at the moment
and the judiciary will have to satisfy the baying masses.
and even if it wasn’t, it was a farken despicable act of dangerous play which warrants a stiff punishment imo. the real question is how long will the nzru/ab coaches wait before picking him again?
26 Nov 2012, 16:08 pm
@i_love_u_bakkiesbotha-690:
Well, let’s not forget that Super Rugby only starts in, what, February next year?
So as long as he gets a ban of eight weeks or less, effectively it will only be a one-match ban.
26 Nov 2012, 16:11 pm
Ah, here we go – it starts:
“Andrew Hore shouldn’t be banned – he should face criminal charges”:

Rory Kleinveldt took 3 vital wickets after most white south africans wrote him off after his 1st test.
We should back the fellow and allow him to develop; he seems to have the right temperament for the game…
Sure lose a few kgs, but same applied to Kallis and Biff at times…
No one is saying anything about Jacques Rudolph

@WP-Forever-691:
yes.
this system is not working as it should and certain teams abuse this.
i hate to be cynical but i would look into the welsh props injury too while they’re at it. just dont trust the ab’s.
26 Nov 2012, 16:15 pm
@WP-Forever-692:
Give us some of that menses cunning stuff again
26 Nov 2012, 16:20 pm
This is one of the picks of the comments on stuff.co.nz:
“RED13 hours ago
Don’t wanna get hurt? Stay onside!
Davies is approaching the ruck from an offside position, while impeding Hore’s (legal) approach. The ‘forearm’ is not the KO. As Davies falls he is unintentionally struck in the head by a knee.
At the very next ruck an AB standing up in an offside position is pushed down. If he had struck his head on someones knee, he would have been KO’d also.”
Every nation has stupid bloody supporters.
26 Nov 2012, 16:21 pm
@Sheriff-693:
Why are you surprised?
26 Nov 2012, 16:25 pm
@nama1-698:
To quote Jacob Westerduin: ‘ I am disappointed but not surprised ‘
26 Nov 2012, 16:26 pm
@Sheriff-693:
Kleinveldt bowled excellently at a critical stage of the test. Just think how good he will be if his conditioning was better.
I can’t help but doubting a players commitment at that level if he does not ensure that he is physically on top form.
