Hore set for hefty ban

New Zealand hooker Andrew Hore has been cited for an off-the-ball incident which subsequently hospitalised Wales lock Bradley Davies.

Hore hit Davies off the ball during the initial stages of last Saturday’s Test in Cardiff. The incident was missed by matchday officials, but Hore has now been cited and looks likely to receive a lengthy suspension.

The time and date of the hearing, before the IRB’s appointed independent judicial officer, have yet to be fixed.

All Blacks coach Steve Hansen expects the hooker to be sidelined for some time. Hansen did not say as much, but has already called for a replacement ahead of the coming Test against England.

Dane Coles is expected to start at Twickenham.

    @Hurricane-10299: oh well that’s us pickled then. Tvs are connected to the satellite dish and the very tall aerial on the roof. We wernt quick enough to unplug all attachments, and this storm got bad quickly and we didn’t fancy our chances touching anything electrical. Thanks Hurricane.

    Drunk driver crashes car while eating plate of pork chops:

    A drunk driver who crashed his car while eating a plate of pork chops has been sentenced to community service.

    While police argued that Westport man Robert Pomare, 37, was eating ribs when he crashed on November 7, Pomare told Westport District Court it was actually a plate of chops.

    Police prosecutor Steven Greer said Pomare had been drinking at the Black and White Hotel before driving to a local restaurant and picking up a plate of pork ribs. As he was eating his ribs, he failed to give way to a vehicle driven by a pregnant woman and hit it.

    Pomare he blew 763 micrograms of alcohol per litre of breath, almost twice the legal limit of 400 mcg. He told police he’d been drinking and had decided to get a feed before going home.

    Defence lawyer Mark Dollimore said Pomare had accepted the description of events but said he’d been eating pork chops rather than ribs.He stayed put after the accident, apologised, checked to see if everybody was all right and waited for police.

    He had already been fined $150 for failing to give way. Judge Rob Murfitt noted Pomare had three previous convictions for drink-driving. He sentenced him to 200 hours’ community work, nine month’s supervision and suspended his licence for a year and a day.

    Poppa the Boks have a truly shocking EOYT record. NINE losses since 2002 including 2 to the Scots.

    That’s 9 test losses, which doesn’t even include the club sides they have lost to on their EOYTs, there have been a few of those too.

    I all that time ABs have lost ZIP ZERO NIL EOYT games.
