Hore set for hefty ban

Hore set for hefty ban

New Zealand hooker Andrew Hore has been cited for an off-the-ball incident which subsequently hospitalised Wales lock Bradley Davies.

Hore hit Davies off the ball during the initial stages of last Saturday’s Test in Cardiff. The incident was missed by matchday officials, but Hore has now been cited and looks likely to receive a lengthy suspension.

The time and date of the hearing, before the IRB’s appointed independent judicial officer, have yet to be fixed.

All Blacks coach Steve Hansen expects the hooker to be sidelined for some time. Hansen did not say as much, but has already called for a replacement ahead of the coming Test against England.

Dane Coles is expected to start at Twickenham.

funny, my highly provocative comments about the anc seem to attract so little censure these days.

sure, i guess its holiday season and everyone wants to chill out and forget about politics but its still surprising.

i will have to do a bit more work to conclude wether its holiday malaise or the barometer of acceptance towards the anc ineptitude, thievery and lying is reaching an all time low.

when i was still a game ranger we used to organise “drinks stops” for the game drives where we would set up a station/table with shots of booze and all the gamedrives would cycle through for the guests to have a shot.

after a while we started to get creative and make the junior rangers dress up. sometimes they would be zulu wariors and even cavemen jumping from trees scaring the bejeesus out of the guests before forcing the guests to have a drink.

it all went pear shaped when we started dressing the trackers up in torn army uniforms and having them impersonate renamo guerrillas complete with false weapons and a smattering of portugese.

they were simply too enthusiastic and the guests got REALLY scared and even the “candid camera” moment of “its all a joke” didnt mollify them.

    ah, fun times.

I’m happy that De Kock was included in the Protea T20 team. IMO De Kock is our future wicketkeeper / batsman in test cricket. With Faf at 6 and De Kock at 7 they won’t have to pick Elgar (or Rudolph for that matter).

Just saw Brok Harris at the Durbanville Municipal office. Had a quick chat with him and took a photo. They just finished their pre-season training this morning. He is looking in top shape. I didnt have the heart to tell him that I put him on the bench in my Stormers team for new season….

yeah… not what it used to be with hard guy like stuart pierce and steve mcmahon playing…

i hate this diving… it is cheating plain and simple… guys should get banned for years for it… rugby players will carry 2, 3 or more players on their backs and still keep going… soccer players fall over if wind from another player is too much…

i don’t watch because it seems the whole soccer world actually condones it IMO… despite what they say and rules they make… fact is they should not need to make those rules… coaches and team owners should be instilling honesty in their players by fining them for diving… but they condone it cause of the ‘rewards’ diving brings…

I will have you know that Bork Harris is a DEMON on the treadmill and on the Powerplate, so I’m not sure why you have to make a ‘sarcy’ commment about him being in great shape. :)

(No jokes though, Brok kills on a treadmill, I have had the dubioud honour of running on the adjacent treadmill a few times in the past….)

I am a big brok fan but with the arrival of Pat Cilliers who is a better scrumming prop than Brok, I would go with Pat Cilliers seeing that one of the Stormers weak points is at the scrum.

Brok does great work around the park but he will always struggle around the park.

But he was cool and we chatted about the competition in the squad and he seems eager to start the season.

He is not that tall in real life, I almost rivalled him for length and I am 1.75, I think Brok is just over 1.8 m.
