Hore set for hefty ban
26 Nov 2012
New Zealand hooker Andrew Hore has been cited for an off-the-ball incident which subsequently hospitalised Wales lock Bradley Davies.
Hore hit Davies off the ball during the initial stages of last Saturday’s Test in Cardiff. The incident was missed by matchday officials, but Hore has now been cited and looks likely to receive a lengthy suspension.
The time and date of the hearing, before the IRB’s appointed independent judicial officer, have yet to be fixed.
All Blacks coach Steve Hansen expects the hooker to be sidelined for some time. Hansen did not say as much, but has already called for a replacement ahead of the coming Test against England.
Dane Coles is expected to start at Twickenham.

I don’t go to gym. I didn’t realise that the Victory Park VA was open yet. They’ve been building there for a year now.

I’ll refrain from comment.
Johannesburg – KwaZulu-Natal transport MEC Willies Mchunu has suspended all tests for Road Traffic Inspectorate jobs after seven people died, SABC radio news reported on Sunday.
In a statement on Saturday he said he would investigate the incident whereby “scores” of people who were trying to get a job at the road traffic inspectorate, collapsed during a fitness test.

Yeah, I’ve got to do something about that.

@David-19109:
This is sad David and indicative of the desperation for jobs.
34000 odd people applying for 90 posts.
I think they must run 4 km in 30 minutes as part of the test and obviously many are not fit or ready, coupled with the heat it makes for trouble.
30 Dec 2012, 09:22 am
Seven people died??

Morning all!!
On the road to Hermanus from PE. Wife is driving so I just popped it. Nice weather for driving – cloudy.
My initial reaction was wow the people are unfit, but…apparently it was 31 degrees C and the applicants had to wait a long time (4 hours +). No water available on the route as well. 6 people died due to exhaustion / heat stroke and apparently one person committed suicide.
They had to run 4 km in 25 minutes which is not too difficult but due to dehydration it might have been a problem!!
Another problem: with so many people running, how do you get an accurate measure of everybody’s time ? I can still remember when I did the Comrades it took me 3 minutes to cross the starting line – and there were about 13000 runners – I was not even at the back for starters!
How do you fill 90 posts with a shortlist of 34000 ? Sounds ridiculous to me.
30 Dec 2012, 10:07 am
Dill, have a farmhouse breakfast with bacon and eggs!!

I’m envious Jeraldjay!! Seriously – I’m not allowed to run: I’m restricted to walking only. During the year I’m following a back care and rehab program. Running used to be my way of staying in shape – those were the days!!
30 Dec 2012, 10:39 am
Jinne Gunther
Call that a cure?
Shame poor Dilli where is he?
30 Dec 2012, 10:45 am

30 Dec 2012, 10:57 am
@Dilligafrican-19144:
Trust me.
I’m a professional.
@David-19145:
Sadly yes.
Especially when these two teams play.
It’s like Diwali and Eid rolled into one for bookies.
30 Dec 2012, 11:24 am
@CharlesM-19139:
Thanks Charles. I have delayed my run for quite a while but finally built up the courage yesterday.
I love the buzz you get when you hit you straps.
30 Dec 2012, 11:39 am
@Jeraldjay-19148: We’ve spent the last 10+ days in PE: most of the days I did some walking, especially along Beach rd. There were so many people cycling, running, jogging, walking etc. It’s always better to exercise wlth or among others IMO.
Anyhow, enjoy your next run(s).
A friend’s BBM status is: “You’re only one run away from a good mood” – I guess many will disagree but once your hooked on running, you’ll agree !!
30 Dec 2012, 11:43 am
@CharlesM-19149:
Have to burn the calories I will inevitably gain next week at Newlands.
