Hore set for hefty ban
26 Nov 2012
New Zealand hooker Andrew Hore has been cited for an off-the-ball incident which subsequently hospitalised Wales lock Bradley Davies.
Hore hit Davies off the ball during the initial stages of last Saturday’s Test in Cardiff. The incident was missed by matchday officials, but Hore has now been cited and looks likely to receive a lengthy suspension.
The time and date of the hearing, before the IRB’s appointed independent judicial officer, have yet to be fixed.
All Blacks coach Steve Hansen expects the hooker to be sidelined for some time. Hansen did not say as much, but has already called for a replacement ahead of the coming Test against England.
Dane Coles is expected to start at Twickenham.

@nortierd-19200:
yes, i suppose any number of possiblly more effective measures could have been taken. certainly they could have split them up into even smaller groups over a greater number of days.
or simply have used an even more stringent set of criteria to whittle it even further down than the criteria which was used.
it was badly organsied/conducted/handled.

@i_love_u_bakkiesbotha-19201:
Firstly, it is the worst possible time of year to do these tests and recruitments.
Many members on on leave so the numbers will not add up.
To break it up over more days during a time of year where almost every other day is a public holiday also won’t work.
I don’t precisely know how the metro does their recruitment, but it would seem KZN is not too bright in this regard.
You seldom hear of similar situations from the other 8 provinces.

Kuk and nerve wracking day, my baby Bella going to spend her first night outside sleeping. She is on the poles we have going through the top of the orange tree in the cage so can’t just grab her tail, put her in carry cage up to the house. Well suppose she has learnt the lay out now and have to start cutting the apron strings. She has one of her teddys to hold onto, but still her being on the blind side. Always stressful doing the first night wondering if the animal is ready. Will be up and down all night with the solar lamp.
Then had a call the Samango I had for a few weeks and got right was found dead this morning. So much effort and then this.

And to top it off, 2 gunshots down by the river not on my property and my monks were down there swimming. Phoned cops, reported gunshots, quoted the firearms control act and told them to go to the feckers and demanded the ob or op number for the complaint.

A very brave and thoughtful speech, considering the occasion and audience. Greig has never backed off from controversy or been afraid of speaking his mind.
30 Dec 2012, 20:34 pm
@Rye…WOW! Very admirable, specially considering you must be fairly set in your ways. Lots of people go that route to becoming vegetarian as well, then cut the chicken and just do fish. Well that is mostly people that do for the health benefits. It is seriously a lot healthier.

Tony Greig, Bill Lawry,Richie Benaud and Ian Chappel , a formidable commentary team….the best? Have to say I loved listening to Bill Lawry running down Nz cricketers, calling them pathetic,soft and mentally weak, then to see someone like Andrew jones, jumping and hopping around the batting crease somehow go on to a hundred or Hadlee rip the Aussies apart with ninefer in the first innings at the Gabba, alas these types of performances were sporadic.
It was the Great West Indies team of the 1970s and 80s along with the Channel 9 team that got me into the game. Will miss Tony Greig….. an Icon of the game.

As the Super Rugby season draws nearer, I am installing the Kings as my second team and will watch them with anticipation and perhaps a tinge of apprehension and optimism rolled into one……GO KINGS

@ryecatcher-19232:
i took the time to read it and have to agree… brilliant speech.
i especially like the part about Colin Cowdrey and Ted Dexter campaigning to have a description of the spirit of cricket included in the preamble to the laws of the game because they were so concerned about the decline in sportsmanship in the game.
i think that is potentially a brilliant idea which could similarly be incorporated into rugby, and the preamble to the laws of the game of rugby.
i dont believe such a thing exists at present but will check to be sure.
we, the rugby loving community of nations, have lost so much from the game over the last 10 to 20 years due to the shameful increase in dishonesty, cheating and selfish self interest of a very, very, very small number of participant members (i’m being kind) and could well and truly do with an honourable, ethical and morally correct description of the ‘spirit of the game’ being included in the preamble to the laws of the game… to protect from the so sadly evident decline in good sportsmanship in the game, we currently have to bear.
i would give anything to see this done for world game game.
rugby… the game we all love is in danger gentlemen!.. in danger!…

reading some of the old posts from way back two things are immediately obvious.
1. this place has calmed a lot in the time since and was a lot nastier at times before.
2. skop has inversely gone the other way and gotten a lot more angry and closed to reasonable debate since (its wierd but he was much nicer).
for e.g.:

Morning Princess, you don’t (tell the difference) you takes your picks and your chances, depends which side of the divided fence you sitting whether they’re whores or hero’s, can argue this nonsensical debate from which ever angle you want to take it, all its doing is highlighting exactly how far we have come in uniting rugby for all since our WC triumph in 1995.

The divide has grown, it is now become almost impassable, either some BIG people get to address this great divide or you are going to continue stretching this cavernous canyon beyond redemption, if we haven’t already arrived there.

Skop clearly has become a lot angrier with time, i wonder if he realises this.
however, one thing that hasn’t changed is his dislike of skittlesticks:

Fark the Kings & any SA player who signs for them
Don’t forget that they are a 2nd Division who don’t deserve to be there and are only competing because of government interference.
Phansi Kings, phansi!

As a Brumbies (Aussie) supporter, why should you care, or even have an opinion on SA S15 rugby for that matter?

I heard that skop is a geriatric. At his age it is to be expected that he will become more irascible and agitated.

Fark the Kings, yeah! Fark ‘em down the toilet drain.
