Hore set for hefty ban

Hore set for hefty ban

New Zealand hooker Andrew Hore has been cited for an off-the-ball incident which subsequently hospitalised Wales lock Bradley Davies.

Hore hit Davies off the ball during the initial stages of last Saturday’s Test in Cardiff. The incident was missed by matchday officials, but Hore has now been cited and looks likely to receive a lengthy suspension.

The time and date of the hearing, before the IRB’s appointed independent judicial officer, have yet to be fixed.

All Blacks coach Steve Hansen expects the hooker to be sidelined for some time. Hansen did not say as much, but has already called for a replacement ahead of the coming Test against England.

Dane Coles is expected to start at Twickenham.

Two feared dead after being ‘ejected’ from bachelor party boat trip in alligator-infested lake:

Two men are feared dead after being ‘ejected’ from a bachelor party boat trip in the middle of an alligator-infested lake.

Charlie Jackson and Jason Cobb disappeared in the ‘wet and stormy’ early hours of Saturday morning after going out onto Lake Jesup in Florida in a 15ft vessel.

Family members said the two missing men, aged 26 and 30 respectively, had attended a bachelor party before heading out onto the lake to fish.

The boat was found Saturday afternoon undamaged and with the keys in the ignition in cattails less than a mile north of the fish camp, near Bird Island.

Two life jackets, two paddles, eight unopened beer cans and one partly empty can of beer were apparently found on the boat.

‘It appears they may have been ejected from the vessel,’ Joy Hill, a spokeswoman for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said in a statement.

another stupid man made fiction story bites the dust..

which godforsaken Caesar declared that Dec 31st was the end of the year and a ‘new year’ ensues at the 1st of January.. which goddamn moron decided that this is the 2013th year after the year of our lord who nobody even has the faintest foggiest clue when he was born or whether he even existed or not?

now they blowing trumpets outside and letting off fire crackers and scaring all the animals because somebody somewhere in some archaic tract of history decided that the year should have 12 months and that the 31st day of December was the end of the year… which by any other reasonable framework of deduction.. it is not.

f’ng fire crackers going ballistic out here in West end of Jo’burg.. for what exactly who the fck really knows.. you’d think it was world war 111 when all it is is that the man made clock has struck 12 on this man made concoction of a Roman calendar devised by some arithmetic calculations that got zero bearing on when the beginning of the year is or when it is supposed to end…

man made moronic mayhem over a man made megalithic misnomer about when the earth is supposed to start a new revolution around the sun.

@skopdiekan-19628: People need rituals to mark time by, and there’s nothing wrong with that. If some other person in history decided the new year wasn’t supposed to happen today but three months from now, there would also be rituals. And in some cultures the rituals last way longer than ours.

I agree, it’s superstition. A way to create order out of a chaotic universe. I just don’t think it’s necessarily such a bad thing.

    @Te Rangatira-19632: Happy party, TR

@skopdiekan-19634: I don’t think God cares in the slightest how we while away our time. And I don’t think humankind will ever realise that. It’s how we evolved, probably a hangover from our need to survive. Our village is better than theirs, hence our rituals are better than theirs. Maybe if some aliens from another planet declares war on us we’ll unite, because then we’ll have something else to fight. Anyway, enjoy your day Skop.

so 2013 is here at last… against all the odds and the predictions of the ‘profits’ of doom…?
i wonder if any of the ‘experts’ are gonna give back the money they made from their books, movies and documentaries…?

may it be a healthy, happy, successful and loving one for all on keo… including our kiwi mates too… and thanks to everyone for their good wishes too…

thanks robzim… didn’t know he had married a south african… obviously got great taste in women…!! apparently has had a house on the peninsula for quite a few years…

thanks for the kind words ryecatcher and treehugger… sincerely appreciated coming from two of the most widely enjoyed bloggers on the site…

rye… in the year you’ve been on the blog you’ve become a firm favourite of most here and your consistently honest perspective is respected by all i’m sure… certainly by me… i’m sure no-one perceives you as sanctimonious at all…
so thanks too for your friendship in that time…

unfortunately it was not a night for stargazing last night… was armed with my ‘star walk’ app which is one of the most amazing apps out there, with which you’re able to identify every planet, star, constellation and man-made satellite out there…
anyway, wind was pumping as robzim said earlier and it was freezing cold… but still had a great time… always do… got down at 3am…

have been bringing in the new year like this for 9 years now… climbing a different peak or place and welcoming it in with pretty special views of cape town at night… point is to differentiate one new year from the next cause most tend to blur into each other and after a while most of us can’t really tell one new year from the other…

david… for your mate to do africa face at night puts him in a way different league to me… he must be a real mountaineer not a casual hiker… africa face is dead scary on a perfect day… must be massively dangerous at night with a box-de-vino in your rucksack and/or stomach… so, seriously, i tip my hat to him…

@playtheball-19635: better go do the dishes and mow the lawn.. that is a far better way to celebrate the new day dawning for your new hoax of a day dream new year.. it don’t exist.. today is as non relevant or as relevant as yesterday.. no different one day or year to the next..

the sun never started a new revolution around the sun.. its the same revolution and today is not any different from yesterday only somebody tried to give it a fake beginning or an end..

if anything Dec 21st should be new year to you.. that is at least slightly more scientifically accurate than this Julian Gregorian excuse of a false new year new dawn

hope you have a decent day too..

got a lawn to mow the grass is getting long

  • 19639.skopdiekan: Reply to this comment

@ufo-19637: the Mayans never said anything about no doomsday.. that was all made up in Hollywood..

least the Mayan system is far more accurate than this Roman one you’re following

sun solstice if anything should mark the beginning of a year if ever there be a need for one.. this Jan 1st day dream is pure unadulterated garbage superstition.. and nothing further removed from the truth than that.. same with xmas, father xmas, fir trees, reindeer pulling sleds, jingle bells, easter eggs, j’esus birthday party or death day party, and all the rest.

yeah i know skop… and said as much on the blog in november already… and years ago amongst my friends we were incredulous at how people came up with this stuff… and at how many people get suckered into believing it…

was the same with the Y2K…

the ‘profits’ to which i refer are those who manufactured a money-making, ego-stroking opportunity for themselves… just shows people can make money our of anything/nothing…

several of my friends celebrate the solstice… even send out solstice cards (e-cards these days) to share their celebrations…

Pretty much everything we do, see and experience is man made.
Not all of it is bad or a hoax.
I am curious as to whether you actually had some fun before you became ” enlightened” it sure doesn’t seem like you have any reason to find joy with anything at the moment.
If that is the price to pay then I will prefer to live in blissful ignorance and buy Christmas presents and look for Easter eggs. It’s fun.
