Hore set for hefty ban
26 Nov 2012
New Zealand hooker Andrew Hore has been cited for an off-the-ball incident which subsequently hospitalised Wales lock Bradley Davies.
Hore hit Davies off the ball during the initial stages of last Saturday’s Test in Cardiff. The incident was missed by matchday officials, but Hore has now been cited and looks likely to receive a lengthy suspension.
The time and date of the hearing, before the IRB’s appointed independent judicial officer, have yet to be fixed.
All Blacks coach Steve Hansen expects the hooker to be sidelined for some time. Hansen did not say as much, but has already called for a replacement ahead of the coming Test against England.
Dane Coles is expected to start at Twickenham.

“IDIOTS!!!”

It seems the self appointed getalong judges of right and wrong on an anonymous blog are in here…
Again…
:”IDIOTS!!!”
And Again…
You fools have farked this blog up into one boring gangbang of backslapping anonymous false moral hypocrisy…
With absolutely fark all to do with Rugby… The supposed raison d’etre of this site in the first place, even if it is an excuse for Stormer/WP glorification to the detriment of the rest of SA Rugby…

Phil (The Power) Taylor must certainly be the greatest finisher in the history of professional sport.
16x world champ…. the man has no equals or nerves…

@i_love_u_bakkiesbotha-20078: re 20/4/2013, hubris & losing clowns:
It always astounds that so many are swept along by the euphoria of temporary success & lose sight of the cyclical nature of just about everything, including sport.
Take the Superrugby track record of N-Tvl/The Bulls as an example:
Super 10 1993-95:
N-Tvl qualified only 1 from 3 years for Super 10; in 1994 even Eastern Province qualified, but not so N-Tvl!
Super 12 1996-2005
N-Tvl/The Bulls spiraled down its own big blue a_r_s_e & from that deep, dark, dank, despairing pit The Phoenix eventually rose again & soared!
Consider & linger momentarily on this track record of ignominy:
1997 – 8th
1998 – 11th
1999 – 12th
2000 – 11th
2001 – 12th
2002 – 12th
Super 14 2006 – 2010
This is the golden era of The Bulls (hats off to them!); rightfully luxuriate in this amazing success:
2006 – 4th
2007 – 1st
2009 – 1st
2010 – 1st
Super 15 2011/12
The Bulls:
2011 – 7th
2012 – 5th
In reality N-Tvl/The Bulls was in Super Rugby decline from 1994-2002 (9 years!) & I recall the franchise was then an EXTREME EMBARRASSMENT to watch. Only once it hit rock bottom with a pitiful 5-year sequence of Superrugby non-performances of ending 2nd last, last, 2nd last, last & last again (OMG isn’t that even worse than the relegated Lions?) was it able to lift itself, recover, progress, soar & stun the Superrugby world.
But regurgitating & dwelling on those stunning successes of its Superrugby golden era 2005 – 2010, blurs the reality that The Bulls cycle topped out in 2010 & that it entered its next extended declining phase in 2011 already (that is 1 year BEFORE it lost many of its aging stalwarts).
In contrast The Stormers & The Sharks have entered an ascending phase (so too, but to a lesser extent, The Cheetahs & The Southern Kings). Be mindful of the recent surprising (?) result of the Proteas’ 2nd T20 vs. The Black Caps when all & sundry thought that the Proteas just had to pitch up at Buffalo Park to take the match. I then warned that a betting man might very well wager on the Black Caps, & the rest is history.
Likewise, beware 20 April 2013 – it may prove to be a watershed, with the revealed identity of “the losing clowns” a huge surprise. Memories are short & appreciation of context often deficient: Hubris, arrogance, pomposity,boundless confidence, disdain of opponents, & complacency are all ingredients of a recipe for subsequent humiliation. The Bulls (like every other Province/Franchise) has been there before & will some day get there again. It is the eternal circle of life.

our thoughts and hearts go out to the people in Khayelitsha who lost their loved ones and homes in the devastating wind-driven fires yesterday…
tragic…
2 Jan 2013, 06:46 am
@Treehugger-20127: And a letter from his mother giving him permission to play with the big peoples’ toys!
@CharlesM-20144: Nice post champ!!!
2 Jan 2013, 06:46 am
very good victory speech Charles…!!
2 Jan 2013, 06:50 am
@ufo-20157: Hi UFO,
I didn’t hear about that yet but indeed very tragic, I echo your sentiments.
BTW, what happened about that NSRI boat that was found floating with nobody on board, I never heard any more about it.
2 Jan 2013, 06:53 am
@BrumbiesBoy-20160: Rubber duck not boat.
2 Jan 2013, 07:07 am
hi brumbie
yeah… wind was pumping yesterday and whipped the fire along… destroyed over 120 homes and 3 deaths… also hear now that 800 homes destroyed in Dunoon… so 8000 people left homeless yesterday…
very sad…
heard nothing more through official channels… but a friend told me that it was apparently claimed but the people didn’t want anything reported and asked their names not be released… he believes it was not securely anchored by divers in false bay… and drifted off as speculated… they were very near shore so no major difficulties for them…
2 Jan 2013, 07:14 am
excellent post angostura…
we are not renowned for our feet-on-the-ground approach and tend to get shot away by any success… relative or real… indirect or direct… and lose all rationale and perspective… and lest we forget, we are merely spectators and any success is vicarious at best…
you could (and maybe should) post that post after every weekend’s matches this season because your comments will remain very relevant no matter who wins and who loses…
great post…
2 Jan 2013, 07:26 am
Morning all!
Thank You Ufo and BrumbiesBoy – it seems that in the words of HG we are idiots !!
My son sent me a photo yesterday around noon, which he captured while driving with a friend past Kayalitsha – looked terrible!! What a bad way to start 2013 !!
Yesterday and from early this morning a chopper with water was trying to extinguish some smaller fires that flared up again in the Hermanus area. It seems to be under control though.
2 Jan 2013, 07:28 am
@ufo-20162: Thanks, hopefully they made a…er…”reasonable donation” to the NSRI for the unnecessary inconvenience and expenses incurred.
In other news I see that Playboy Hugh Hefner married his “runaway bride” Crystal Harris in a private ceremony at his mansion on New Year’s Eve. The 26 year-old who jilted him in the aisle in 2011 has obviously had a change of heart about the 86 year-old SuperStud.
How romantic…
2 Jan 2013, 07:35 am
hi charles…
yeah… wind and fire make this a very dangerous season in cape town… fortunately a relatively windless day today so far…
hopefully they did brumbie…
2 Jan 2013, 08:55 am
everyone busy…
2 Jan 2013, 09:11 am
@ufo-20167: Yeah, but it’s understandable.
Bakkies has nearly worked out the bra joke.
Wnbb is busy cutting & pasting.
Skop has started his boycott of anything man made.
CharlesM is too busy gloating!
And Carol is sulking because Charles beat her by one!
Etc, etc
2 Jan 2013, 09:23 am
yeah brumbie… many people back at work (as am i) or recovering or chilling…
but charles ain’t no gloater… you just have to go back through the thread to see gloaters carrying on about hitting numbers…
and carol is no sulker… a very stylish lady she is…
anyway.. am busy too… just thought i’d drop in and see what’s happening… maybe pop in again later…
enjoy your day…

@Heavens Game-20153:
Happy New Year Hg…albeit a belated one…am hearing your criticism and I will be looking forward to seeing the welcome return of those Sharkie supporters like Wooden Spoon, Sharksgirl, Puma,SL and the horrible Predawn coupled with the Blue Bulls crowd especially the tacit tones of Tacitus then as you say this blog will be “cooking with gas”
2 Jan 2013, 09:27 am
@ufo-20169: No, I know, I’m just teasing!
2 Jan 2013, 09:29 am
@BrumbiesBoy-20171:
yeah… i know…
2 Jan 2013, 09:32 am
@BrumbiesBoy-20171:
Happy New Year to you too…Brumbie…too bad 2013 will see the ACT bubble burst…just joking…as long as the very, very good Leiafano stays healthy, then you guys in with a good shot at making playoffs at least.
2 Jan 2013, 09:40 am
@Te Rangatira-20173:
coupled with the unscrupulous raiding of the hopeless Force of their best player…
2 Jan 2013, 09:41 am
@Te Rangatira-20173: Yrah, cheers mate, hope you have a good one too!
Am also looking for a big season from eigthman Fotu Auelua this year, he put in some great performances but then faded a bit, I think he got injured?
2 Jan 2013, 09:42 am
@BrumbiesBoy-20175: Yrah = Yeah
2 Jan 2013, 09:42 am
@Te Rangatira-20174: Hehehe, great buy that was!!!
2 Jan 2013, 09:48 am
@BrumbiesBoy-20175:
Yeah that Fotu made a big impact but as you say faded…if he can add those other skills to his game that define a true no8, then he will kick on in 2013 as long as he stays free from injury.
2 Jan 2013, 09:52 am
@Te Rangatira-20178: I think it was Rye that was telling you about your quote in “SA Rugby”, I have it at home and will bring it tomorrow to quote for you!
2 Jan 2013, 09:57 am
@BrumbiesBoy-20179:
It was Charles who informed me and that will be nice of you…Thankyou.
2 Jan 2013, 10:34 am
Just watched the Welsh legends of the Lions teams of 71 and 74.True legends of the game:Bennett,Edwards,JJ Williams,JPR Williams .Great to see the footage how they just totally destroyed the racist boer team of 74!Also notable was the thousands of black support they had on that tour.
2 Jan 2013, 10:40 am
Big Vern into the wickets already.
2 Jan 2013, 10:43 am
@wnbb-20182:
Yup, and 4 of NZs runs of him were from an overthrow.
2 Jan 2013, 10:45 am
@wnbb-20181:
JJ Williams was only there in ’74 because Gerald Davies and David Duckham refused to tour SA.
2 Jan 2013, 10:56 am
Vern now 2 for 0!
2 Jan 2013, 10:58 am
vern on fire…!!
2 Jan 2013, 11:00 am
@David-20184:correct and who could blame them.Was waiting for the cricket to start on skysports1 when I noticed white policemen running after and hitting black people all over the show.Naturally I took an interest in that situation and realised that they were interviewing all these welsh greats of 71 and 74.Have to say that JJ played an absolute blinder on that 74 tour,though.
2 Jan 2013, 11:00 am
@Angostura-20156:
Very good and informative post.
2 Jan 2013, 11:01 am
The Ravensmead boytjie is on fire!!
2 Jan 2013, 11:01 am

Lucky for me the Walka is on at work, so watching Vern cause havoc again
2 Jan 2013, 11:05 am

2 Jan 2013, 11:07 am
Going to Newlands tomorrow and Friday. Hopefully I’ll see some cricket.
Don’t think Smith has dropped a catch in the slips all year.
Williamson is class and will fight back.
2 Jan 2013, 11:09 am
@wnbb-20191:
Hi
Yes, happens too often and usually this time of year is the worst time.
Like a cemetery here at work, almost everyone on leave.
Another to Vern, he is brilliant
2 Jan 2013, 11:10 am
@Jeraldjay-20192: Not with big Vern around.
2 Jan 2013, 11:11 am
@Jeraldjay-20192:
Unfortunately Big Vern’s got more class on a seaming Newlands wicket.
Why did they decide to bat 1st.
2 Jan 2013, 11:13 am
@nortierd-20190:
hey nortie…
@Jeraldjay-20192:
yeah… i’m going tomorrow… hope we get to watch more than the sprinklers….
2 Jan 2013, 11:14 am
