Hore set for hefty ban

New Zealand hooker Andrew Hore has been cited for an off-the-ball incident which subsequently hospitalised Wales lock Bradley Davies.
Hore hit Davies off the ball during the initial stages of last Saturday’s Test in Cardiff. The incident was missed by matchday officials, but Hore has now been cited and looks likely to receive a lengthy suspension.
The time and date of the hearing, before the IRB’s appointed independent judicial officer, have yet to be fixed.
All Blacks coach Steve Hansen expects the hooker to be sidelined for some time. Hansen did not say as much, but has already called for a replacement ahead of the coming Test against England.
Dane Coles is expected to start at Twickenham.

For me, that is a big call. For Alec Stewart, maybe not so. Alec said he would pick him in his World XI.
I was about 13 when I first saw Curtley, Courtney, Wasim and Waqar play in SA. And it was the Pakistani duo that made the biggest impression on me.
Curtley and Courtney (and AD, for that matter) all bowled at 140 km/h, and Wasim at a tad less.
But I will always remember Waqar’s 5/25 at Durban bowling at an unbelievable 150 km/h plus.

The Sharks announced changes to the board of directors which would take effect immediately. Mr Stephen Saad and Mr Terry Rosenberg were appointed to the board at the annual shareholders AGM held in Johannesburg on 4 October, 2012. Reminds me of an old story from St George’s Park when Transvaal were playing EP in a vital Currie Cup game.
Memories fade but Tvl were in deep deep trouble when (I’m sure) it was Rupert “Spook” Hanley’s turn to bat.
It was either New Year’s Day or the day after and Spook was suffering rather badly from..let’s say…the after effects of the night before and he complained to a teammate about not wanting to go out because “in my condtion I’m seeing three balls.”
“Don’t worry,” came the advice back, “just aim for the one in the middle”.
Sure enough Spook’s stumps lay on the ground after the first ball and on his return to “the hut” he was asked: “Why didn’t you do as I told you and aim for the middle ball?”
“I did,” said Spook, “but you never told me which bat to use”.

Yeah, Waqar and Wasim was great as a duo, specifically in one day cricket and they invented reverse swing.
Too close to call, but Curtly has always been my favourite especially on batsmen friendly wickets.

20241 HG: a couple of weeks ago we had a “discussion” with skop re eating meat. During that time I realised that it was no use “debating” with him. He would repeat himself ad nauseam and kept on with the derogatory statements about anybody that had a different opinion.
I guess you have experienced the same today !
Therefore I decided not to engage with him about Christmas etc.
It’s definitely not a Stormers’ thing !!
