Hore set for hefty ban

New Zealand hooker Andrew Hore has been cited for an off-the-ball incident which subsequently hospitalised Wales lock Bradley Davies.

Hore hit Davies off the ball during the initial stages of last Saturday’s Test in Cardiff. The incident was missed by matchday officials, but Hore has now been cited and looks likely to receive a lengthy suspension.

The time and date of the hearing, before the IRB’s appointed independent judicial officer, have yet to be fixed.

All Blacks coach Steve Hansen expects the hooker to be sidelined for some time. Hansen did not say as much, but has already called for a replacement ahead of the coming Test against England.

Dane Coles is expected to start at Twickenham.

    A memorable day for SA cricket as well as Cobras/Western Cape cricket.Well done King Kallis on 13000 runs,Steyn on 300 wickets and Big Vern for ripping the heart out of the Kiwi batting lineup.Things are really looking up in WC cricket.Great young batsmen and young fast bowlers coming through the system.Proud to be Capetonian.Did not even touch on my Stormers sermon!! :D

    but always felt he could and should have dominated more bowling attacks… but, as has be discussed often, he had a central role to play…

    but happy to see how he has become a more positive dominant batter…

    i believe the turning point came when he was first not selected for the 20/20 side… he said he’d prove them wrong and has become a far more authoritative, positive and commanding batsmen since then… IMO anyway…

    and will deserved and recognised place in cricketing history without any doubt whatsoever…

    and.. damn… he’s just lost his wicket…!!

    No argument there, but Kallis brought much more value to the SA side over the lean years.
    Look at him now without the pressure and knowing Hash, Biff or AB is good for some runs.
    Will never disrespect Sobers in any way, he was awesome, but if I had to choose, it would be Kallis.

    Kallis to 13000 in 159 tests versus Sachin 163, Ponting 162 and Dravid 160 and his average of 56.94 is higher than all three as well and UFO says he hasn’t dominated sides as he would have liked :lol: . Maybe I’m missing something ;wink:.

    Ufo only joking mate and I know exactly what you mean, he had the potential to be destructive but I think when he came into SA’ s test side we weren’t a dominant force and just getting back from isolation. He didn’t have the luxury that say Ponting had in terms of walking into an established side and always having a bowling attack to support the batting and enable one to play with a little more flair and aggression.
