Hore set for hefty ban
26 Nov 2012
New Zealand hooker Andrew Hore has been cited for an off-the-ball incident which subsequently hospitalised Wales lock Bradley Davies.
Hore hit Davies off the ball during the initial stages of last Saturday’s Test in Cardiff. The incident was missed by matchday officials, but Hore has now been cited and looks likely to receive a lengthy suspension.
The time and date of the hearing, before the IRB’s appointed independent judicial officer, have yet to be fixed.
All Blacks coach Steve Hansen expects the hooker to be sidelined for some time. Hansen did not say as much, but has already called for a replacement ahead of the coming Test against England.
Dane Coles is expected to start at Twickenham.

@nortierd-21796: Phangiso needs to get more turn he shows really good control and some drift but doesn’t get a lot of purchase off the deck. We need someone who genuinely turns the ball

@nama1-21793: what are the posts about?
8 Jan 2013, 14:55 pm
@Skeppie-21795: race plays a big part in SA life.No need for me to be someone else I am not…as skop would say.I am not on this forum to be chummy chummy with people.I say it as it is whether you like it or not.

@Transformation-21802:
He claims I said Philander was useless. Just before he made his debut.
Or something to that effect.
8 Jan 2013, 14:59 pm
@wnbb-21803: I have no issue with brining up or discussing racial issues when relevant but race cannot drive everything. Sometimes we need to let go of the past and move forward without race always weighing everyone down.
8 Jan 2013, 15:00 pm
@John Galt-21804:
He is saying that when Philanderer made his debut for the one-day team in 2011 (a match in which he did not perform at all), you were very critical of him.
8 Jan 2013, 15:00 pm
@Skeppie-21801:
Skoppie, You are 100% correct, but have we actually got a ” spinner” that spins the ball?
I like the look of Phangiso, but to be honest, I am judging him based on the 20/20 Championship tournament more than anything else.
He took some big name wickets and showed he wasn’t in awe of them, and that I loved.
Shows he has belief in himself.
8 Jan 2013, 15:01 pm
@nortierd-21807:
Sorry Skeppie, see I spelt your name Skoppie.
Apologies, no disrespect intended, I promise. Lol

@Transformation-21790:
please Transie, you have to stop saying things like this, these really are outlandish claims. the bulls are not a team which sets out to cheat and neither are they coached to do so in the way that nz teams are.
you mention one or two highly unusual and out of the ordinary incidences (incidents which are open to debate anyway) as a justification for a really spurious claim.
Suarez has a history to him which involves repeat instances of such actions and behaviour. he was also involved in a very unsavoury ‘accidental’ injury caused to chelsea captain, not to mention his diving.
8 Jan 2013, 15:03 pm
i am dissapointed in you, Transie.
8 Jan 2013, 15:03 pm
@wnbb-21751:
So Berry will know who you are.
8 Jan 2013, 15:03 pm
@Dawn-21794: Dawn, I’m a Tahir fan, but in all honesty he was shocking in Australia, & had to be dropped
And, yes, he has to now consistently deliver above average performances at franchise level to force his way back into the Proteas XI – one swallow does not …. etc.
Meanwhile Robbie P has surprised me, I must admit…
8 Jan 2013, 15:09 pm
@wnbb-21803:
I don’t think you have to be chummy with everybody.
Not everyone gets along or agrees all the time.
By the same token, not everyone who visits this site wants to fight or argue every time they come on.
The same way you would like others to accept your point of view, just grant those who have a different point of view the same courtesy.
I don’t think CSA reads these posts so I doubt if anyone here can change anything anyway.
8 Jan 2013, 15:14 pm
@nortierd-21807: HAHAHA no offence taken! Maybe we are also being a bit greedy, we have the best top 6 in the world, the best seam attack in the world and are a very good fielding side! I just wish we had someone would could really turn the pill and bowl teams out on day 4/5, hopefully Phangiso comes through.
8 Jan 2013, 15:15 pm
@nortierd-21813: The sad truth is I suffer from White guilt and probably always will but it gets tiresome to always have to look through race coloured glasses.
8 Jan 2013, 15:16 pm
@Skeppie-21814:
Lol, so do I mate , so do I
Most of our spinners can’t even turn a doorknob, Ecksteen, Symcox, Harris and Boje spring to mind.
But we live in hope that one day we can unearth a spinner that can deliver a Warne to Gatting type delivery.

@Transformation-21802:
About Vernon Philander’s inclusion in the Protea team to face the Aussies from Nov 9 2011.
Some people were not pleased with his inclusion.
@TooMuchRugby-21806:
Not entirely what I said.
Vernon made his ODI debut in 2007 and played very poor cricket. So, when he was selected to make his test debut in 2011 against the Aussies, guys like JG criticized his inclusion on the grounds of his ODI performances in the past. They now want to conveniently forget it since Vernon’s performances over the last 14 months for the Proteas made a mockery of their opinion of him..
8 Jan 2013, 15:20 pm
@wnbb-21803: No, wnbb, you often say it as it IS NOT, but as you would LIKE IT TO BE to fit your agenda.
I agree with many points you make, but then you tend to go into hissy-fits and make preposterous, unsubstantiated claims … with respect you lose all credibility & influence in doing so.
Sadly, it is difficult to take you seriously, even though (as in this CSA/Arendse/Basson matter) you are raising important issues. C’mon, dude, up your game, think before shooting from the hip:
“Reflexes got the better of me
And what is to be must be.
Every day the bucket goes to the well,
But one day the bottom will drop out,
Yes, one day the bottom will drop out.
But I say:
I shot the sheriff, but I did not shoot no deputy, oh no.”
8 Jan 2013, 15:21 pm
@Skeppie-21815:
Sad but true, but this is not why I come on a site like this.
Enjoy chatting, sometimes to see other perceptions etc and mainly love rugby and cricket.
I can’t comment on others points of view if I haven’t been in their shoes so I try to steer clear of it, but a debate is a two way street, not who can shout the hardest or longest.
If I start to copy and paste Shakespeare, it won’t make me a patron of the arts all of a sudden.

@i_love_u_bakkiesbotha-21809:
Rewatch the Bulls Crusaders semi this year, half the Bulls should have been wearing red they were so far offside and constantly infringing but you’ll conveniently overlook that, they were professional fouling all night.
8 Jan 2013, 15:27 pm
@nortierd-21819:
Lets not talk too much cricket.
8 Jan 2013, 15:28 pm
@nama1-21817:
I got my dates mixed up. I meant 2007 not 2011. So we are saying the same thing.
8 Jan 2013, 15:31 pm
@TooMuchRugby-21822: No problem.
8 Jan 2013, 15:34 pm
@nama1-21823:
But, can you blame someone for being critical after that performance by the Philanderer?
8 Jan 2013, 15:35 pm
@NZINCHINA-21821:
He he, deal.
Thanks for pointing out that the reason Bakkies keeps hammering on about NZ foul play and cheating is to deflect the attention away from the dirty, cheating Bulls.
Like the pot calling the kettle black isn’t it?
Sorry Bakkies, just joking.
8 Jan 2013, 15:36 pm
@NZINCHINA-21820: I remember the Aussie commentators,that year, accused the Bulls of playing to a different set of rules where knock-ons and offsides were part of their gameplan.They just quietly had a dig at the Saffa refs who controlled the bulls matches that year….I think.
8 Jan 2013, 15:36 pm
@NZINCHINA-21820:
that was intentionally done to negate/nullify the crusaders well known cheating.
teams have learnt they need to play the crusaders in a certain way, which is why i dislike the extent to which nz teams have dragged the game down really.
it only makes for a distasteful spectacle when both teams and sets of opensides race to the bottom. its an arms race of dishonesty forced on rugby by the nz’s.
8 Jan 2013, 15:38 pm
which is basically what tri-nations 2010 was except nz had the added advantage of sympathetic refs.
8 Jan 2013, 15:40 pm
@John Galt-21804: look i don’t recall if you actually said Philander was useless before that Aus series, the person who i definitely know said Philander was s.hit on the day of the Test is the blogger named Bod or Broderick according to Gunther…
TFS (Transformation Forensic Services) is still closed & only the CEO is @ the office so can’t really crack open the vaults.
8 Jan 2013, 15:44 pm
@TooMuchRugby-21824:
Four years have gone by since then. If they followed his career, they would’ve seen how he developed over that period.
Being critical is one thing. Just shooting someone down because he was not good enough four years earlier, is quite another.
They were quite willing to give Neil McKenzie and Jaques Rudolph second chances without questioning their ability to perform at test level the 2nd time around. They even asked for them to be selected after they were dropped the first time.
**Koes…koes…

@wnbb-21826:
The Bulls had a serious handicap.
The rule books were only printed in English AND they got Tappe Henning in to help explain it ( we all know he doesn’t know his ars.e from his elbow )
The fact they found their way onto the field instead of getting lost and ending up in the ladies loo was already a miracle, so we couldn’t expect them to stay onside as well could we?
8 Jan 2013, 15:45 pm
@nortierd-21825:
You have a superb side at the moment, I long for the day as a kid in the 80′s doing the Hadlee chant at the garden of Eden seeing him rip through teams!
@wnbb-21826:
The Bulls had plenty of assistance during their glory years but they rode their luck and good on them, Bakkies knows this though.
@i_love_u_bakkiesbotha-21827:
Hold on a sec, so you’re saying the Bulls intentionally cheated in that game?
8 Jan 2013, 15:45 pm
@bakkies: you are delusional if you think the bulls are these goody-two-shoes boy scouts
8 Jan 2013, 15:48 pm
@Transformation-21833:
He’s finally come clean, the Bulls cheated last year against the Crusaders.
8 Jan 2013, 15:52 pm
@NZINCHINA-21832:
no, i’m saying they were forced into acts contrary to their good nature.
its different.
8 Jan 2013, 15:53 pm
@nortierd-21831:
. That’s probably one of the reasons why they got rid of Pote Human.
8 Jan 2013, 15:55 pm
@i_love_u_bakkiesbotha-21835:
Your mate slugger Greyling looked like he was playing 9 for the Crusaders that night.
8 Jan 2013, 15:55 pm
@Transformation-21833:
they play hard but fair, Transie.
it about letting the skill, strength and flair of your opponents beat you, if they have it.

Any comments on this story:

Thanks, will bookmark those rules.
I guess they also teach them the MMA rules and the crowd favorite, Rugby for Dummies.

@nortierd-21842: I hope they will be able to perform…..after doing meisiekind’s hair,toe and fingernails.
8 Jan 2013, 16:08 pm
@TooMuchRugby-21844: Brian Kennedy mastering the Afrikaans language now??…..just joking.
8 Jan 2013, 16:09 pm
@i_love_u_bakkiesbotha-21838: you think it was fair of them to knock the ball & not inform the referee or stop the game?
they might not be coached but they cheat.
8 Jan 2013, 16:10 pm
@NZINCHINA-21834: which game? in 2011 the Saders beat the Bulls 27-0.
8 Jan 2013, 16:11 pm
Lions also lost their 12 million rand per year coca cola sponsorship.Seemingly they also can’t get rid of John Mitchell as well.Dark days ahead for those okes in Braamfontein.
