Hore set for hefty ban

New Zealand hooker Andrew Hore has been cited for an off-the-ball incident which subsequently hospitalised Wales lock Bradley Davies.

Hore hit Davies off the ball during the initial stages of last Saturday’s Test in Cardiff. The incident was missed by matchday officials, but Hore has now been cited and looks likely to receive a lengthy suspension.

The time and date of the hearing, before the IRB’s appointed independent judicial officer, have yet to be fixed.

All Blacks coach Steve Hansen expects the hooker to be sidelined for some time. Hansen did not say as much, but has already called for a replacement ahead of the coming Test against England.

Dane Coles is expected to start at Twickenham.

    Most of the resentment of our non-white fellow citizens about generations upon generations of racial discrimination & inequality in SA sport is fully justified. IMO it is good & proper that this is being addressed, & that inequality & discrimination be eliminated. The injustices of the past are self evident. We need to work towards a shared vision of equal opportunity in sport (which includes recognising that certain communities require special redress), we need to do so honestly, gladly, with urgency, commitment & diligence. There is much to do & we need to do it without selfishness, greed or revenge/hatred. We need to be motivated by the best interests of ALL sportsmen & -women, & all our sporting codes. It is time for sport administrators to bury the hatchet & to start seeking open-minded co-operation (as opposed to confrontation) with other sport administrators representing different constituencies. Seek the common good. Pursue a win-win solution.

    Am I wrong? Don’t most fans & players share these ideals? So why do we keep bickering amongst ourselves?

    Jong die Polisie Kollege se eiers was ook blou, maar die vitterjoel het nie gewerk nie.
    Baie ouens van die Kaap het met n nuwe bruidjie en parceltjie terug gegaan.
    Ek onthou naweek pas het die meisies van Danville teen die Kollege draad gewag.
    Daai tyd was dit iets groots om n poliesman te vang, n goeie uitweg.
    Klink nou verskriklik, maar dit was n lang tyd terug.

    All us Capies thought it was mash and asked for extra.
    What an unpleasant surprise.

    But we had double period PT after lunch, so we never ate it

    Our PTI was Izak Beneke, the Ntvl and later Free State centre, he scored the try against WP in 1991 when the guy tackled FC Smit(?)

    Pierre Coetzer also was a PTI at the time

    We were all in building 8, die rugby kompanie.
    Naas Botha did a short course, they appointed him as Warrant Officer, just so he could play for Police.
    I remember Pierre Coetzer was the first policeman to drive a porche.
    Boxing must have been quite lucrative even in those days

    Ons moes agterbly omdat ons die O/ 21 final gemaak het.
    Het in ’92 gegaan vir skate beheer, maar tydens Kollege nie gegaan nie.
    Was eintlik lekker, die hele gebou buite n paar van ons wat moes speel was weg, so ons het vir 2 weke net rondgele en ander PTI’s dodge.
    Hulle het ons gehaat, gese ons is net in die Polisie om rugby te speel, so as hulle n kans gekry het om ons n opf.k te gee was hulle net te bly

    Ons was twee weke in TIN opleiding toe vlieg hulle ons af Kaap toe as versterkings toe die Witdoeke en Comrades baklei het en KTC afgebrand het. Ons het saam met Eenheid 10(?) gewerk

    Ons het in die sale op Goodwood se Skouterrein geslaap en lekker gekuier met die meisies by die Ys skaatsbaan langsaan.

    Ons het na ‘n maand teruggegaan Maleoskop toe en toe las hulle twee ekstra weke aan ons TIN kursus aan, eina
