Hore set for hefty ban

New Zealand hooker Andrew Hore has been cited for an off-the-ball incident which subsequently hospitalised Wales lock Bradley Davies.

Hore hit Davies off the ball during the initial stages of last Saturday’s Test in Cardiff. The incident was missed by matchday officials, but Hore has now been cited and looks likely to receive a lengthy suspension.

The time and date of the hearing, before the IRB’s appointed independent judicial officer, have yet to be fixed.

All Blacks coach Steve Hansen expects the hooker to be sidelined for some time. Hansen did not say as much, but has already called for a replacement ahead of the coming Test against England.

Dane Coles is expected to start at Twickenham.

    Yes, I hope the boys don’t take of their foot from the paddle. They should be ruthless and roll over the Kiwis again. Would be interesting to see if Steyn and Morkel can make early inroads as we’ve become accustomed to with Philander there.

    If the boys are still no. 1 by 01 April, they are bound to receive more than R4mil from the ICC. Good enough motivation for them. England still have a three match series against the Kiwis when they return home.

    @nama1-23054: Apparently the union presidents decided against that and rather pushed to sort out transformation policies hence the grilling of AndrewHudson. Feb 02 meeting will be interesting.I expect his removal from his acting position,though.

    I’m picking a Nz upset, how its going to happen,wouldn’t have a clue, and even though a drawn series would be unfair to Sa….we’ll takeit….I have to say ,if I do watch it live I will still be sticking to my ritual of head under blanket…..

    I guess the question is: how will the Proteas bowling attack cope without Denzel Washington?

    Not only does he put the ball consistently in the corridor or area of uncertainty but it builds pressure for his partner operating from the other side.

    Let’s hope a relaxed Rory Kleinveldt can do a decent job. He is, to my mind at least, not the artist that Denzel is, but a player that the selectors should back and build his confidence.

    The omnipotent Jacques Kallis had a terrible start to his career and look where he is today: more than 13,000 runs!

    “The urgent need to improve representation of Black Africans at all levels from school and club through to franchises and on to national level was stressed as an imperative. Transformation will be carried out as a three-tier policy at club and school level, franchise level and national level.”

    So I’m just connecting the dots here.
    Surely if the Board had ‘frank and full discussions on transformation’, these discussions would have eminated from the head of transformation policies?

    Doping in cycling and just about every other US sport.

    Match fixing in Soccer and just about every other sport in the world.

    Let’s not even talk about the rules.

    Humble yourself and start with the basics and take it from there. Understand that the longer version of the game is (to my mind anyway) what’s it’s really about.

    20/20 as introduction, 50 overs for a bit of action but then the longer version is what you want to come to terms with.
