Hore set for hefty ban
26 Nov 2012
New Zealand hooker Andrew Hore has been cited for an off-the-ball incident which subsequently hospitalised Wales lock Bradley Davies.
Hore hit Davies off the ball during the initial stages of last Saturday’s Test in Cardiff. The incident was missed by matchday officials, but Hore has now been cited and looks likely to receive a lengthy suspension.
The time and date of the hearing, before the IRB’s appointed independent judicial officer, have yet to be fixed.
All Blacks coach Steve Hansen expects the hooker to be sidelined for some time. Hansen did not say as much, but has already called for a replacement ahead of the coming Test against England.
Dane Coles is expected to start at Twickenham.

@Transformation-23039: Well, I at least deserve a bonus point for finishing within seven!

@I am a stormer-23045:
We were also very lucky with the weather. Was always nice throughout.
Yes, I hope the boys don’t take of their foot from the paddle. They should be ruthless and roll over the Kiwis again. Would be interesting to see if Steyn and Morkel can make early inroads as we’ve become accustomed to with Philander there.
If the boys are still no. 1 by 01 April, they are bound to receive more than R4mil from the ICC. Good enough motivation for them. England still have a three match series against the Kiwis when they return home.

@wnbb-23052:
I thought you said that he was going to be asked to resign yesterday. What happened to that?
10 Jan 2013, 23:08 pm
@nama1-23054: Apparently the union presidents decided against that and rather pushed to sort out transformation policies hence the grilling of AndrewHudson. Feb 02 meeting will be interesting.I expect his removal from his acting position,though.

any skittle sticks player come anywhere near the talent and courage or skill some these cats have, and I start watching skittle sticks as a sport
skittle sticks players (or rugby players) don’t come anywhere within a couple of galaxies in comparison to the skill and control or dexterity these maestro’s possess

Hi Guys
I see the Burger says Schalk will be leading the Stormers in Super Rugby…
Interesting!!!
11 Jan 2013, 07:59 am
@Gumboots-23062: I reckon that would be a mistake. Schalk’s a great player, but we’ve seen this script before haven’t we? He’s not a captain, imo.

I’m picking a Nz upset, how its going to happen,wouldn’t have a clue, and even though a drawn series would be unfair to Sa….we’ll takeit….I have to say ,if I do watch it live I will still be sticking to my ritual of head under blanket…..

@Te Rangatira-23065: Great mental picture. In rugby season the same happens to me when I watch the Boks against the All Blacks

Sorry Shooter
I meant 09H50 pm last night!

@playtheball-23063:
Yeah! I thought they would go with JdV seeing that he has been reappointed Bok captain…

@wnbb-23055:
Haha, so now Basson is the hero for pushing transformation and Hudson is the big bad agent?
You are such an assclown.
11 Jan 2013, 08:33 am
@Gumboots-23068: I thought something else started happening in the team when Fourie took over last year. There was a new spirit and belief. I reckon the older guys are just too used to losing.

I guess the question is: how will the Proteas bowling attack cope without Denzel Washington?
Not only does he put the ball consistently in the corridor or area of uncertainty but it builds pressure for his partner operating from the other side.
Let’s hope a relaxed Rory Kleinveldt can do a decent job. He is, to my mind at least, not the artist that Denzel is, but a player that the selectors should back and build his confidence.
The omnipotent Jacques Kallis had a terrible start to his career and look where he is today: more than 13,000 runs!
11 Jan 2013, 09:11 am
@Transformation-23072:
Basson is CSA’s transformation head isnt he?
From Cricinfo: “The Board had a frank and full discussion on transformation which included input from CSA’s national selection convener, Andrew Hudson.
“The urgent need to improve representation of Black Africans at all levels from school and club through to franchises and on to national level was stressed as an imperative. Transformation will be carried out as a three-tier policy at club and school level, franchise level and national level.”
So I’m just connecting the dots here.
Surely if the Board had ‘frank and full discussions on transformation’, these discussions would have eminated from the head of transformation policies?
Anyhoo, Capo, or whatever his name is, is still a clown.
11 Jan 2013, 09:31 am
The fact that the Proteas are the no 1 test team on the planet leaves me cold…
SA and World cricket is forever tainted by Hansiegate…
Strues Bob, nothing more than WWE in white on an oval green field…
Farken useless game… Not even real sport IMO.
11 Jan 2013, 09:35 am
@playtheball-23066:
i dont have that problem.
am usually very calm, attentive and focussed during bok matches with the ab’s, or any other team for that matter.
i try to approach it as objectively as possible with the mind of a ‘talent scout’, if you will.

@i_love_u_bakkiesbotha-23076: Ja right bakkies, and the pope is Afrikaans.

IYO? phew. I thought it was a fact.

he is completely nuts.
the type of guy you never take seriously and is usually the one saying ridiculous things at a party for attention.
11 Jan 2013, 09:49 am
@Heavens Game-23075:
You could say the same about just about every sport though.
They all have their dirty secrets.
Doping in cycling and just about every other US sport.
Match fixing in Soccer and just about every other sport in the world.
Cricket is a sport all right. Requires stamina, co ordination, skill etc etc.
11 Jan 2013, 09:51 am
@Sheriff-23073:
no he doesn’t, he looks nothing like denzel washington.
@Heavens Game-23075:
sjoe!
now that is an ‘interesting’ viewpoint to say the least.

So how do you know who I’m talking about?
How would you know anyway?
It’s like attending Trevor Noah’s show a few months back. At some point I realized people were staring at me thinking that I am Trevor; what is the problem here.
Well they simple cannot tell the difference – if the skin colours are more or less the same they think it’s the same person. You prolly have that same problem.
It’s like seeing Duane Vermeulen and thinking it’s Schalk Burger because they both have blond hair.

@John Galt-23080: Cricket got nothing on Football or Rugby for that matter…
Football for skill
Rugby for physicality and gladiatorial cameraderie…
Even NFL puts cricket to shame…
Fark I would prefer watching a Chess game between 2 Grand Masters than Cricket… More action and more honest competition/endeavour…
Cricket…Sport…? My left foot…
11 Jan 2013, 10:03 am
SA win the toss and decide to bat.
11 Jan 2013, 10:09 am
@Heavens Game-23086: you obviously got knocked on the box while fielding, or noggin when batting… when you were u/9 or u/10… and now you having a lifelong of suppressed embarrassment issues.
one of those guys who who hated the hard ball game, because it hurt?
11 Jan 2013, 10:09 am
@Transformation-23000: Well done Transie.
A double to be proud of!
11 Jan 2013, 10:11 am
@Heavens Game-23086:
You prolly do not understand the history, ethos and the rhythm of the game.
Let’s not even talk about the rules.
Humble yourself and start with the basics and take it from there. Understand that the longer version of the game is (to my mind anyway) what’s it’s really about.
20/20 as introduction, 50 overs for a bit of action but then the longer version is what you want to come to terms with.
11 Jan 2013, 10:12 am
@Transformation-23000:
Lovely anticipation; congratulations and well done
11 Jan 2013, 10:17 am
@John Galt-23069: I want to quote the editor of the Financial Mail, Barney Mthombothi in today’s editorial: ” …..But we tend to forget that by constantly looking at or interrogating the past, we invariably have our backs to the future. Progress thus becomes the casualty.”
Very wise words IMO !!
11 Jan 2013, 10:20 am
@i_love_u_bakkiesbotha-23079: well, well well bakkies, glass houses, people, stones
11 Jan 2013, 10:21 am
@shooter-23088: “Because it hurt”… Dont make me farken larf man… A little stinging farken ball got nothing on 2.5tons of pressure centering on C5/C6 cervical vertebrae… The ultimate physical confrontation in Sport without doubt.
Or fracturing an ankle with a couple of tacklers holding on and proceeding to score a try (Ruben Kruger)…
Farkoff with cricket being anyway physically worthwhile as a “sport”
11 Jan 2013, 10:22 am
@Sheriff-23084:

well you’re obviously referring to vernon philander.
why dont you just google image the two of them, i just have and am now certain the two dont look alike.

@i_love_u_bakkiesbotha-23095: The pHighlander?
11 Jan 2013, 10:25 am
@Sheriff-23090: Mad dogs and Englishmen in my blonde haired, blue eyed anglo saxon blood so the original “ethos, history and rhythm” before it got tainted by the Calcutta bookies is part of my colonial “culture”…
I disown it fully…
11 Jan 2013, 10:25 am
@sheriff: but you look nothing like trevor sheriff?
11 Jan 2013, 10:25 am
@willievz-23089: Hi Willie, yes BBoy has asked for an independent audit !!lol
11 Jan 2013, 10:27 am
@Heavens Game-23094: Sure. Wonderful.
And I’ll put a lazy 5 bucks on the absolute fact that you were a backline player?
