Hore set for hefty ban
26 Nov 2012
New Zealand hooker Andrew Hore has been cited for an off-the-ball incident which subsequently hospitalised Wales lock Bradley Davies.
Hore hit Davies off the ball during the initial stages of last Saturday’s Test in Cardiff. The incident was missed by matchday officials, but Hore has now been cited and looks likely to receive a lengthy suspension.
The time and date of the hearing, before the IRB’s appointed independent judicial officer, have yet to be fixed.
All Blacks coach Steve Hansen expects the hooker to be sidelined for some time. Hansen did not say as much, but has already called for a replacement ahead of the coming Test against England.
Dane Coles is expected to start at Twickenham.

If Faf continues the way he is, he could end up with a higher test average than Bradman.

Here is the clip.
Not a nice way to treat arguably the greatest player who ever played the game . He certainly has a huge ego but all of the super grandmasters have that- it’s probably essential to survive at that level.

Talking about the greatest, Muhammad Ali before his fight with Sonny Liston in ’64: “I’ll hit him so hard he won’t know what happened to October & November.”

Want to see how the SAPS wriggle out of this Audi R8 smash in Saxonwold on Thursday morning.
For those of you who may not know, a formerly one-piece Audi R8 is now a three-piece after smashing into a tree, wall & lamppost shortly after 04:00 instantly killing both the driver and his policeman “passenger”.
The police say that a small quantity of dagga was found in the car during a routine search in Sandton, resulting in the driver speeding off with the policeman still in the car, resulting in “a high-speed 7km chase until the Audi crashed”.
However, private CCTV footage from a business about 3-4 km away from the crash scene show the police van following the Audi, but driving at similar speeds to other cars in the area at the time, and also without any emergency or blue lights and sirens activated.
Go figure.
12 Jan 2013, 10:44 am
Its cool to be coloured.
12 Jan 2013, 10:52 am
@BrumbiesBoy-23216:
I reckon the cops in the van made up the story to justify the situation, rather than a general SAPS cover up.
12 Jan 2013, 10:52 am
Hi BBoy, I heard something interesting on the radio yesterday. Somebody phoned in and according to him the R8 is designed in such a way to “break into 2 pieces” in an accident with a lot of impact: apparently the engine is so heavy and would crush the driver in the event of an accident (especially at high speed) – therefore the “design to break in half”.
I’m fairly clueless about this – maybe some car guru can help us here
12 Jan 2013, 10:53 am
Or maybe we can get Hougie to explain to us, seeing that he also drives one!
12 Jan 2013, 10:54 am
Yes David I think you’re right!
12 Jan 2013, 10:58 am
@David-23218: Yes, agreed, however it obviously puts the SAPS in the limelight again at a time when there’s enough focus on them already.
@CharlesM-23219: Yes, an Audi fanatic at work mentioned the same thing.
But in this one’s case the third piece was the driver’s seat and door so it didn’t help anyway…
12 Jan 2013, 11:04 am
@BrumbiesBoy-23216:
@David-23218:
The cop driving the van following the R8 will have a lot of awkward questions to answer.
The cop in the R8 was after 2 things I reckon: soliciting a bribe and wanting a ride in an R8.
12 Jan 2013, 11:08 am
3 pieces: must have raced at a heck of a speed!!
12 Jan 2013, 11:09 am
@I am a stormer-23223:
There’s a lot of speculation about going to an ATM, but they would have passed quite a few between Grayston and 11th Avenue in Rivonia/Oxford Rd. In fact, there’s nothing until they reach the turn off to Killarney Mall.
12 Jan 2013, 11:14 am
@David-23225:
Exactly. They drove past Sandton City, Illovo and Rosebank.
As I said the cop in the van will have a lot of questions to answer in a low-speed chase. It’s only after Corlett Drive that the R8 probably opened up and showed the cop what that car could do. Particularly at 4am when there were hardly any other cars about.
12 Jan 2013, 11:19 am
Well batted, Hash. Another quality knock.
12 Jan 2013, 11:21 am
@I am a stormer-23223: @David-23225: Yes, they would’ve passed ATMs of every major financial institution on the way.
Now a person who will only identify himself as “Sly” says the Audi stopped at a robot next to him. “I looked the policeman in the eye and he was resting his arm on the door; he seemed relaxed and chilled.”
Sly says the Audi would speed up then slow down waiting for the police van to catch up. This continued until the Audi suddenly sped up again and crashed.
Police have named the driver as 32 year-old businessman Areff Haffejee who leaves his wife of two years, and the Sandton policeman as 31 year-old Goodman Lusibi who leaves a wife.
12 Jan 2013, 11:22 am
Let’s see if Elgar can score any runs…..
12 Jan 2013, 11:25 am
Damn. Let’s see Elgar justify his place now. Amla did the same as Smith.
12 Jan 2013, 11:25 am
At least Elgar survived the 1st ball!!
12 Jan 2013, 11:25 am
23232
12 Jan 2013, 11:39 am
@BrumbiesBoy-23228:
Apparently CCTV footage captured the van and the Audi going at the same speed as other cars on the Illovo stretch. If it was a bribe they were after it was probably more than the guys ATM limit and they were going to his home.
12 Jan 2013, 11:40 am
Shakedown.
12 Jan 2013, 11:47 am
What a ***** review by the captain!
12 Jan 2013, 11:48 am
S h y t e
12 Jan 2013, 11:56 am
@David-23233: Are they allowed to bribe you for more than your daily limit?
12 Jan 2013, 12:08 pm
@BrumbiesBoy-23237:
Why should they let technology get in the way of a decent living?
12 Jan 2013, 12:19 pm
@BrumbiesBoy-23237:
Depends what your daily limit is.
I’m sure Johan Rupert has a greater limit than say Snoekskiet.
They were probably on their way to the guys house for the drug stash.
12 Jan 2013, 12:36 pm
@David-23238: Oh absolutely!
12 Jan 2013, 13:49 pm
Faf currently has a test average of 140.
12 Jan 2013, 14:04 pm
@David-23241:
Indeed.
According to some though he is a mediocre player.
What a mediocre player though.
12 Jan 2013, 14:18 pm
@gunther-23242:
I was never impressed with his T20 and ODI performances.
I must admit I was one of them.
12 Jan 2013, 14:19 pm
To Hore,
or not to Hore.
this is the question.
12 Jan 2013, 14:23 pm
Elgar cashing in on mediocre Kiwi bowling.
12 Jan 2013, 14:48 pm
@BrumbiesBoy-23216:
cry, the beloved country…
12 Jan 2013, 14:59 pm
@Robzim-23203:
i blame the players involved who were dishonest about their rankings as well as assisting one another and the organisers of the exhibiton tournament.
poor form really.
12 Jan 2013, 15:02 pm
@cane-23244:
you’ve just answered it.
12 Jan 2013, 15:47 pm
C’mon Dean Elgar.
Get that maiden test ton and settle everybody’s nerves.
12 Jan 2013, 16:10 pm
@I am a stormer-23249:
If we declare once Elgar gets his ton he’ll have a test average of 40.
