Hore set for hefty ban

Hore set for hefty ban

New Zealand hooker Andrew Hore has been cited for an off-the-ball incident which subsequently hospitalised Wales lock Bradley Davies.

Hore hit Davies off the ball during the initial stages of last Saturday’s Test in Cardiff. The incident was missed by matchday officials, but Hore has now been cited and looks likely to receive a lengthy suspension.

The time and date of the hearing, before the IRB’s appointed independent judicial officer, have yet to be fixed.

All Blacks coach Steve Hansen expects the hooker to be sidelined for some time. Hansen did not say as much, but has already called for a replacement ahead of the coming Test against England.

Dane Coles is expected to start at Twickenham.

The ball was sent to Kookaburra HQ for tests, hence Australia

What I don’t get is that I’ve read somewhere that De Kock is in the side because AB felt that focussing on captaincy, batting and keeping is too much.
If that is the reason, why is AB out of the one-day side altogether? Why not keep him on just for batting at least.

Dont think he’s out the ODI side. He is Cappie after all.

Keeping would have put too much pressure on him so he is cappie and batting 4.

@TooMuchRugby-25603: No AB is still in the side – Gary K said that they’ll still make a decision whether AB will return to keeping or not but at the moment the captaincy, keeping and batting at 4 are a bit too much too “handle” simultaneously.

Thanks for the info about the ball !

    Oh dear. Not again.

You think Robbie had a good game? I think he was average on a turning 3 day old PE wicket. He really should have done more. He grew up on that ground which is the nearest thing to a sub continent track we have.

Ill say what I said earlier and then never speak of it again.
Peterson is the latest average spinner in a long list of average SA spinners. Starting with Tim Shaw, Clive Eksteen, Pat Symcox etc and moving on to Paul Adams and Paul Harris.
Except Robbie rates himself higher that all of them.

The last truly talented spinner we had was probably Denis Hobson, since then SA hasnt produced a spinner worth talking about.
You want to see a true craftsman at work, wait one more month and watch Ajmal in action.

As for Rory, I’m actually starting to warm to the big fella. He hits the deck nice and hard and looks like a true team man.

    @John Galt-25616:

    Good post.

Although Paul Adams is exception to that long list of mediocre spinners we have produced since re-admission. Due to circumstances beyond his control:

The late Terry Jenner’s influence which inhibited his natural bowling action
Craig Matthews didn’t back him when he played provincial cricket for Province. He was adapting to test cricket then unfortunately colided with a advertsing board in England which hurt his bowling hand.

And under those circumstances taking 134 test wickets is not that bad.

Yes Rory will take wickets on flat tracks which is needed in the 5 day format.

I think I once played against Denis Hobson when he was an old toppie playing for WPCC.
We didn’t know what hit us. I think our batsmen are still wondering which way it was spinning.

I never copy and paste but the few paragraphs below were taken off the supersport website: I hope this gives some clarity re AB

One player who will be watched closely in the forthcoming series is wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock, who turned 20 last month.

Kirsten said he wanted De Kock to keep wicket in all three matches against New Zealand to enable AB de Villiers to concentrate on his relatively new role as one-day captain.

“It is also an opportunity to look at a really young ‘keeper who has some quality batting ability. He reminds me of a young Mark Boucher 18 or 19 years ago who had exciting batting ability and came through as a ‘keeper.”

If you want to be totally sickened, first thing in the morning, then expose yourself to the transcript of the interview of Lance Armstrong.
Yet this is only part 1 as tonight 8pm EST the last hour will again be on live viewing.
This man is an unknown, idiopathic pathological case.

What you may never view are the myriads of other interviews by Matt Lauer, Kate Snow, Ann Thompson and a hosts of many others of other cyclists and people such as Betsy Andreu, Frank Andreu, Tyler Hamilton, Floyd Landers and many more.

    @Jeraldjay-25586: Hi JJ.Very worried
about Schalk. You may remember that he had a serious neck injury
a couple of seasons ago. When he retur ne d he did not enter rucks
with his usual courage. When taking the ball up he developed a technique
of turning his back on tacklers wheras previously he ran through them.
When returning he often rotated his neck as if to relieve pain.
Hope to hell that I am wrong.I love him as a player.
I feel that a fully fit Schalk should be Bok captain.
Watch every Stormers match as they are the beloved enemy. The above are
    obviously my opinions..

A Brakpan girl goes to Home Affairs to register for child benefits. “How many children?” asks the assessor “Ten” replies the Brakpan girl “Ten?” exclaims the Home Affairs worker. “What are their names?”
“Kosie, Kosie, Kosie, Kosie, Kosie, Kosie, Kosie, Kosie, Kosie and Kosie” “Doesn’t that get confusing?”
“Naah” says the Brakpan girl. “It’s great, because if they are out playing in the street I just have to shout Kosie, YOUR SUPPER’S READY or Kosie GO TO BED NOW and they all do it…” “What if you want to speak to one individually?” says the perturbed Home Affairs worker.
“That’s easy,” says the Brakpan girl. “I just use their surnames!”
