Hore set for hefty ban

Hore set for hefty ban

New Zealand hooker Andrew Hore has been cited for an off-the-ball incident which subsequently hospitalised Wales lock Bradley Davies.

Hore hit Davies off the ball during the initial stages of last Saturday’s Test in Cardiff. The incident was missed by matchday officials, but Hore has now been cited and looks likely to receive a lengthy suspension.

The time and date of the hearing, before the IRB’s appointed independent judicial officer, have yet to be fixed.

All Blacks coach Steve Hansen expects the hooker to be sidelined for some time. Hansen did not say as much, but has already called for a replacement ahead of the coming Test against England.

Dane Coles is expected to start at Twickenham.

Shame, poor descendants of invader stock, they will not ever know what it is to be genuine S.African, let alone African. That miserable genetic make-up just not equal to the requirements. Hence no originality too as ideas are stolen and presented as own.
Too close to those German ‘herrenvolk’ attitudes and tendencies.

Wiggins, beaten to third place by Armstrong in the 2009 Tour, said he had felt enormous pride when he told his son he was no cheat.

“I had to explain it to my son because he’d won the same race his dad had won,” said the 32-year-old father-of-two.

“When he (Armstrong) started welling up about his 13-year-old son, and him asking what’s all this about. I never have to have that conversation with my own son as his father’s won the Tour clean.

Good to hear that,Wiggins. You are probably the second clean winner after the great Miguel Indurain.

    Mental Laziness

It seems these days it is very fashionable these to appear counter-intuitive and non-mainstream. I think there’s an unconscious assumption in many people that to be perceived in this way is to be perceived as intelligent. It is ironically the opposite of intelligent as it allows one to lazily rely on a template to do their thinking for them.

How obviously foolish to form one’s values, opinions, decisions, actions and ultimately their life on the back of a fashionable template. Is it not obvious that everything in life should be dealt with on its own merits?

Frustratingly, it seems that those who apply this template form of thinking are the ones who believe themselves to be the ‘enlightened’ ones. What they don’t seem to realise is that everything they think they know has actually been fed to them and they are now part of the masses who respond to contemporary media and other culture-determinants.

To deal with everything on its own merits is more mentally challenging than to go through life using a template to determine your beliefs and opinions. It requires one to be consciously aware and think things through. Mental laziness fails at dealing with everything on its own merit. Throughout our history, only a small minority of people have applied this more difficult way of thinking to their lives and the rest of the population has lived off the benefits of their achievements and (due to mental laziness) without contributing themselves.

Mental laziness is the possibly the root of most, if not all of humanity’s problems. It dates back as far as our history goes. From burning people for being witches back in 15 – 1600AD to accepting nationalist pride as a righteous virtue in 1939 – 1945 to promoting political correctness as we are experiencing today, people will respond to the zeitgeist of the time, thinking they are correct in their opinions and beliefs.

If you don’t have background knowledge on a particular issue, try not having an opinion. If you have never met someone before, try not judging them. Try saying “I don’t have an opinion on that”, or “I don’t know”. Only form opinions and judgements once you have enough information to qualify you to do so. Your thoughts and feelings about something or someone should not be predetermined. They should develop as you begin to experience the subject matter and even then, they should be informed, educated and open to being changed or updated.

Being void of an opinion should be valued. It should take a lot for your lack of an opinion to be altered. Scientists do not state something as fact until they have done multiple test phases, peer reviews and can measure their results to at least 99% surety. Our inertia to form an opinion should be valued in this way. The opposite is to have easily-formed opinions without value or demand for further knowledge of the subject matter. This undermines the value of your own opinions and allows you to be easily moulded and swayed through emotional manipulation.

The damages of being mentally lazy are huge when you view the world’s population as a whole. 6.5 billion people approaching life without thinking for themselves can have severe detrimental effects. If we were to rid ourselves of ingrained opinions and beliefs, we might find the world to be a much more peaceful and fascinating place.
