Hore set for hefty ban

Hore set for hefty ban

New Zealand hooker Andrew Hore has been cited for an off-the-ball incident which subsequently hospitalised Wales lock Bradley Davies.

Hore hit Davies off the ball during the initial stages of last Saturday’s Test in Cardiff. The incident was missed by matchday officials, but Hore has now been cited and looks likely to receive a lengthy suspension.

The time and date of the hearing, before the IRB’s appointed independent judicial officer, have yet to be fixed.

All Blacks coach Steve Hansen expects the hooker to be sidelined for some time. Hansen did not say as much, but has already called for a replacement ahead of the coming Test against England.

Dane Coles is expected to start at Twickenham.

@victoriabok-26699: Victoria is the island is it not? it was in Jan/ Feb. That was not too bad. nice and sunny.

i think the worst of the winter was over already. But in the East it was still very cold. 55 hours from Toronto to Edmonton. Snow snow snow all the way…. pheeuw. – 20 was the coldest i experienced. But i hear that’s still average.

@victoriabok-26704: look, it’s a nice enough place. people are kind and friendly, hospitable. I have quite a few friends living all over Canada…
sure there may be very nice beautiful times. I’ve seen alot of amazing scenes in any case. but the sunny seasons seams just too short, and the wet crappy ones too long.

Cape Town – Lions hooker Martin Bezuidenhout will join the DHL Stormers at the start of next week, as injury cover up front.

With youngster Scarra Ntubeni (shoulder) having undergone surgery this week and Springbok Tiaan Liebenberg (back) still a few weeks away from taking contact, Bezuidenhout will be based in Cape Town until the end of March.

DHL Stormers coach Allister Coetzee explained: “Martin will initially be here until the end of March, but it could be longer – depending on the fitness of Tiaan and Scarra.”

Bezuidenhout played his Craven Week rugby for the Leopards, before moving to Johannesburg after school.

The 23-year-old hooker has represented the Lions at every level – including two seasons of Super Rugby and the 2011 Currie Cup Final when he came off the bench.

“As I said earlier this week, we needed a hooker with enough Super Rugby and big-game experience and Martin certainly fits the bill,” said Coetzee.

“He also came very highly-recommended by his peers and we’re looking forward to welcoming him at training on Monday and getting him up to speed with our systems at the HPC.”

Bezuidenhout will immediately be included in the team’s preparations for next Saturday’s warm-up match against the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein (kick-off 17h00).

Why these bloody Bulls supporters so obsessed with s hit and brokebacks

On and on and on every single fecking post

  • 26711.ufo: Reply to this comment

this is part of his email…

I accidentally discovered a small beach near Duiker Island one morning whilst paddling my surf ski around the Sentinel when I stopped for a break – the entire area is covered in shucked abalone shells more than a metre deep!
I felt it my duty to fly back and capture these images of the shells discarded here. How many thousands more lie below the ocean surface?

This is a story of brazen abuse and theft of our natural heritage that needs to be pushed, pushed and pushed until we the public start making a difference and our front line authorities take zero tolerance stance on this.
Until then we continue to lose tons of abalone a week to this illicit trade. Positively sickening.

Our West Coast rock lobster resources are today pegged at 3% of what we had in the early 1900′s.
How much worse off is our abalone already?

That’s a fact, but too warm can be even worse

A mate of mine moved to Brisbane a few years ago and just after he arrived they had a heatwave, for two weeks it was in the high forties the whole time, only dropping to the mid thirties at night

I used to live on a farm outside Pretoria

One of my neigbours moved and rented out his property

The renters were quiet and bothered no-one

Then one day the Police raided the place, they suspected the house was used to process Abalone

    The place was abandoned

There were industrial ovens, like those bakeries use, for drying it

The guy was known to the cops

Apparently he rents a place, use it for a couple of months, then move elsewhere but before he leaves he repaints the inside, put in new carpets and leaves the place in a better condition than he found it

He prefers to work inland as no-one would expect to find perlemoen smugglings and processing that far from the coast

@shooter-26664: The Star reported yesterday that ‘we can expect an announcement from Juan regarding his rugby future in the next few days’.

It went on to mention that he injured himself against the Bulls in Feb 2011 and hasn’t played since and that his last Test was against the Poms in Nov 2010.

It mentioned various offers from France but the general tone of the article left mer with the distinct impression that we probably won’t be priveleged to see him play again.

    Very sad.
