Hore set for hefty ban
26 Nov 2012
New Zealand hooker Andrew Hore has been cited for an off-the-ball incident which subsequently hospitalised Wales lock Bradley Davies.
Hore hit Davies off the ball during the initial stages of last Saturday’s Test in Cardiff. The incident was missed by matchday officials, but Hore has now been cited and looks likely to receive a lengthy suspension.
The time and date of the hearing, before the IRB’s appointed independent judicial officer, have yet to be fixed.
All Blacks coach Steve Hansen expects the hooker to be sidelined for some time. Hansen did not say as much, but has already called for a replacement ahead of the coming Test against England.
Dane Coles is expected to start at Twickenham.

@garth-27249:
Second hand Subaru’s are dirt cheap in NZ.
I just posted this so a better comparison can be made.
29 Jan 2013, 07:58 am
@ufo-27248: I hope they qualify for the Varsity Cup.
29 Jan 2013, 08:04 am
Everywhere (ex Africa) is expensive if you are using rand.
29 Jan 2013, 08:05 am
@Sasuke-27252:
me too…
if they play like this through the season they have every chance…
most people wee expecting tut to clean up in the shield having just been relegated from the cup…
29 Jan 2013, 08:05 am
When I was in SA in 96′ it was 3.5 rand to the NZD and it was incredibly cheap to eat and drink there I couldn’t believe my luck.
29 Jan 2013, 08:06 am
Cina go and compare the avg income aswell.
The amount of expendable income left over after paying the bills is the real telling factor.
29 Jan 2013, 08:09 am
@Fern-27256:
Sure it always is but that doesn’t change the fact that traveling using rand must be a nightmare if you are going to a first world country.
29 Jan 2013, 08:11 am
@NZINCHINA-27257:
I am fortuante to earn a good salary.
International travel is not a basic human right as you pointed out.
29 Jan 2013, 08:12 am
@garth-27247:
homebrew?
sounds fun.
@garth-27249:
do you think the website data is accurate overall and a fair reflection of the NZ cost of living?
29 Jan 2013, 08:12 am
@Fern-27256:
Hi Fern…Nz probably have a higher Income tax rate and we also pay Gst@15% but probably get a better delivery on Govt services?
29 Jan 2013, 08:12 am
@Fern-27258:
Yes true the rand has depreciated so much though, has that created inflation in SA?
29 Jan 2013, 08:14 am
@Te Rangatira-27260:
Yip
International travel is not a issue for the majority of South Africans,having services and decent infrastructure is.
No offence China but your point about international travel only is relevant to a minority of South Africans.
29 Jan 2013, 08:14 am
@Te Rangatira-27260:
Govt services in NZ are superb, it’s difficult here in China as they still take a 3 hour lunch break and knock off early
29 Jan 2013, 08:20 am
@NZINCHINA-27261:
It is getting tougher for everyone,except the wealthy.
It is a global trend.
I went into another African country for the 1st time in Dec.
Maputo in Mozambique is shocking,filth like I have not seen in SA yet.
29 Jan 2013, 08:20 am
@ufo-27254: Oh but there is a ruling this year that there will be no relegation and promotion this season.
29 Jan 2013, 08:20 am
@NZINCHINA-27257:
why?
29 Jan 2013, 08:21 am
@Fern-27264: Still a beautiful city right?
29 Jan 2013, 08:21 am
@i_love_u_bakkiesbotha-27259: Yip, it’s pretty accurate. But there are so many things it does not account for, i.e. insurance is so much cheaper (life and household and car). You don’t pay for schooling. You don’t pay mapoga-poga to look after your house.
29 Jan 2013, 08:23 am
@garth-27268:
and you have very good ice cream.
29 Jan 2013, 08:23 am
@Fern-27264:
So SA is doing quite well then.
@gunther-27266:
The rand has fallen through the floor, so surely purchasing goods and services is very expensive compared to home?
29 Jan 2013, 08:23 am
@Fern-27262:
Being able to travel is a big thing to many Kiwis…..a luxury perhaps but something we got to do at some point.
@NZINCHINA-27263:
I suppose we have past Generations to thank who worked hard for that…but those days of free education,health etc have gone….better to go private sometimes…try to get ACC to pay for it….hehe
29 Jan 2013, 08:23 am
@Sasuke-27267:
Some great architecture,I was just around the harbour area.
I have been told if you move to the tourist areas it is cool.
But innercity filth like I have not seen before sadly.
29 Jan 2013, 08:23 am
@Te Rangatira-27260:
hi TR, gov services are beyond pathetic at times but still a world removed from the rest of africa. we b.itch about it here, quite rightly to be fair, but from the first minute you cross the border north into the rest of SADC or further you quickly realise how much we take our substandard public services for granted.
still no excuse, but its helps make it all relative.
29 Jan 2013, 08:26 am
@NZINCHINA-27270:
No,the gov are not making good on their promises to the people.
When you were in SA you were travelling el cheapo,I promise you that you cannot afford the top game lodges and parks targeting rich overseas visitors.
SA is not a cheap country to tour.
29 Jan 2013, 08:28 am
Thanks Fern, very interesting.
Most of the posters on here from SA will be earning closer to an average of R35k
It is the masses of poor in the country that brings the average earnings down.
Cost of living is SA is cheap without a doubt, if only the government would take service delivery more seriously here……
In all my travels overseas i still have to find a place that gives you a package like SA does (Weather, food, friendly people, scenery, woman
). Just my opinion though
29 Jan 2013, 08:29 am
@Te Rangatira-27271:
Yip when I came home to get passports for my daughters I went in at lunchtime half expecting it to be closed but it was open, a very short queue and fantastic friendly service, if only it was like that here I’m going through the process of opening a store and the process is farking unbelievable.
29 Jan 2013, 08:29 am
Thornybush rates are from R5100 per person per night sharing.
29 Jan 2013, 08:31 am
@Sasuke-27265:
huh…?
are you serious…?
how the heck did that happen and how do they explain it…?
29 Jan 2013, 08:31 am
@NZINCHINA-27270:
many of the goods etc that we purchase at home are imported anyway.
South Africa hardly makes anything anymore. your chinas saw to that.
anyway you just have to make more rands.
29 Jan 2013, 08:32 am
@Mr Black-27275:
When you go the cheap route it is very cheap,when you go the expensive route it is very expensive.
My Dec holiday and long weekends away I do not pay for accom so that helps a lot.
29 Jan 2013, 08:32 am
@Fern-27274:
It was very cheap in 96′, I was staying in a suburb of J’Burg (brandston/brandston) I can’t remember the exact spelling but there were some very good restaurants and they were very cheap, so it’s changed that’s a bummer.
29 Jan 2013, 08:34 am
@NZINCHINA-27281:
You were not staying top end,you went the cheap route.
Nothing wrong with that.
I stayed at various BASE Backpackers.
29 Jan 2013, 08:34 am
@i_love_u_bakkiesbotha-27273:
Hey Houston, that picture of that cannibal was outthere…he wasn’t Nz Maori though..
.Never been to Africa but could imagine what it would be like outside Sa.
Don’t worry, we bit.ch about how things are run over here….
29 Jan 2013, 08:35 am
@gunther-27279:
It’s is true for most of the world now, I’m applying for my Chinese green card shortly 10 year visa with the same rights as locals, ( you do not have to be a commie to get one) a foot in both camps.
29 Jan 2013, 08:36 am
@Fern-27282:
I was staying with friends Fern, calm down.
29 Jan 2013, 08:38 am
@NZINCHINA-27281:
Depends China, some travel agents will milk you dry. If you come over here and do your own thing it is much cheaper and more fun. The locals in SA is very friendly and you will be amased at how many nice plases you can visit in SA if you know some locals, which you do. (Be careful of the Stormers though
)
29 Jan 2013, 08:39 am
@NZINCHINA-27285:
I am calm,just pointed out it can be done cheaply.
The top lodges and game reserves charge in US$ aswell…
29 Jan 2013, 08:39 am
@Te Rangatira-27283:
forgive me TR, i mean no offense by that stuff and only google some things to piss in Poppa’a waka. i didn’t even read/scroll through the second website but did read a bit of the first link i posted.
seeing him go over the edge is a larf, but he does also say some s.hitty things too.
29 Jan 2013, 08:39 am
@NZINCHINA-27284:
at the end of the day you are competing for the same resources.
the days of bargains in SA are over.
If you want to eat meat or drink wine in SA that could be sold overseas then you need to pay international prices.
The farmer doesn’t care where he sells it.
29 Jan 2013, 08:41 am
@Mr Black-27286:
Had a superb time in your country, unfortunately it was May 96′ after you had beaten us at the WC and just before we won over there in 96′, so I took plenty of flak re rugby but the hospitality was brilliant.
29 Jan 2013, 08:41 am
@NZINCHINA-27276:
Yeah…customer service has improved from yesteryear.
Sounds interesting what you’re doing over there…. It sounds difficult to get up and going in business?…do you have Chinese partners in the clothing store?
29 Jan 2013, 08:41 am
@gunther-27279:
And i love the tenderpreneurs.
The more money they make the more they spend at my businesses
Lots of opportunities is SA to make money if you want to.
29 Jan 2013, 08:42 am
@NZINCHINA-27261:
it certainly creates upward pressure.
29 Jan 2013, 08:42 am
@gunther-27289: SA is still far cheaper than most other African countries.
Luanda, belive it or not, is the most expensive city in the world for expats to live in.
29 Jan 2013, 08:43 am
@i_love_u_bakkiesbotha-27288:
I took it as a larf…mightn’t sound right considering the subject matter….but kinda crackked me up.
29 Jan 2013, 08:44 am
@NZINCHINA-27290:
He he, yes rugby is a different kettle of fish
Glad you enjoyed it here.
29 Jan 2013, 08:45 am
@i_love_u_bakkiesbotha-27288:
stop pissing in his waka.
you are making it smell.
29 Jan 2013, 08:47 am
@Dilligafrican-27294: Read somewhere that the Angolan president’s daughter has just become Africa’s first female billionaire. Maybe this has something to do with Luanda’s cost of living.
29 Jan 2013, 08:48 am
@katman-27298: hahaha…there’s no place for nepotism in Africa….what gives you that idea?
29 Jan 2013, 08:48 am
@katman-27298: Dollar Billionaire?
