Hore set for hefty ban

Hore set for hefty ban

New Zealand hooker Andrew Hore has been cited for an off-the-ball incident which subsequently hospitalised Wales lock Bradley Davies.

Hore hit Davies off the ball during the initial stages of last Saturday’s Test in Cardiff. The incident was missed by matchday officials, but Hore has now been cited and looks likely to receive a lengthy suspension.

The time and date of the hearing, before the IRB’s appointed independent judicial officer, have yet to be fixed.

All Blacks coach Steve Hansen expects the hooker to be sidelined for some time. Hansen did not say as much, but has already called for a replacement ahead of the coming Test against England.

Dane Coles is expected to start at Twickenham.

@the curse-27589: Good to hear the surgeon is happy. Hope you keep getting good news further down the rehab line as well.

I play in a Superbru pool (along with the obvious Stormer fan pool) in which we pay to participate…. It makes for some good weekly prizes throughout, and final round jackpots for the Top 3.
I did extremely well in 2011, as the Stormers and Blues didn’t lose many games… (I never ever ever ever back an opposition team on Bru over these 2 teams. Always have ‘em to win…which fuckedmeupchronically last year on the Blues side of the party….I just can’t bring myself to pick another team for the win, the heart always overrules the head, and the bookies ;) – very sad for me actually)

Aussies were helluva lucky to get that concession……

your rugby still stinks, you need to clean it up if you want the world to respect you.

we are sick of changing the laws because of you.

Cape Town – Former South African first class cricketer, Brett Matthews, passed away on Thursday.

Matthews, who was the brother of former Western Province and Proteas fast bowler Craig, was in an induced coma in a Pretoria hospital for a month after being involved in a car accident on New Year’s Day.

The left-arm medium paced bowler represented Western Province, Eastern Province and Transvaal in a first class career which spanned six years between 1984 and 1990. He was 50 years old.

Craig Matthews confirmed the news via Twitter on Thursday.

“Our dear brother Brett passed away this afternoon, RIP, big guy. Thanks for all the support,” Matthews tweeted.

@The Sharks rugby pedigree is packaged as dog food-27606: they lost the first couple and just had a feeling in that game… and without Jonker this year I think the Bulls may end up playing the Lions for relegation..

should be them anyways, the two teams who have gone whole super seasons without victory should play off for the spot imo..

and then I stopped picking for the last few rounds if memory serves me..

no point chasing it when you are that far behind..like the SA vs NZ head to head stats for example..

  • 27618.nortierd: Reply to this comment

    Well hello all the Kiwi’s.
Good to see you out in numbers this morning/evening.

Pops, superbru is that time of year where you pick with your head and not heart,
And when you support your biggest enemies for 80 minutes depending on those picks. And if they fail to deliver then we have even more reason to dislike them.
    :-)

@the curse-27612: They were on a 4 game winning streak last year, there were tears from the coach, tantrums from the players, injuries galore, rumblings all over – and I still backed them to win.

Apart from Blues/Stormers loyalty (and the Stormers have been keeping their side of the bargain recently), all other predicted outcomes are decided scientifically :)
This year however, I think weekly grand slams are going to a lot tougher to pick….

    Lots of fun though.

@Te Rangatira-27613: Thanks. I will try and find the pool code/name.

@The Sharks rugby pedigree is packaged as dog food-27619: it does provide an interest in the games where you dont really care about either team, and then when they are close to your margins you start hoping for the conversion or the penalty or whatever so you get that extra half point :D

There are games I actually crawl around in front of the flat screen hands clasped and screeching:….willing the hooter to go, or willing a missed conversion, willing a penalty……

Picking them to win and seeing them lose is still bittersweet.
Google their new jersey, throwback to the days gone by, light blue with the Barberton Daisy on. Special commemorative jersey for their 75 year anniversary.
E mailed the pick to VicBok yesterday.
Means after buying the Pink atrocity last year the supporters must fork out for a new one again this year.
    Getting worse than Man United

@The Sharks rugby pedigree is packaged as dog food-27626: Bad news for those around me at Newlands this year. My new ‘Walka’ is going to ensure that I see every game whilst at the stadium: without having to stand in the grotty pubs. :) Tantrums galore await those on the fields at Groote Schuur, those in the 5000000000000000000 strong line to get into the womens bathrooms under the railway stands…..etc.

@nortierd-27627: they have to sell new jersies each year to pay for all the players they import…

I guess a lot of ladies in Pretoria will be getting second hand Bulls jersies this year?

they should market the new ones with a free bottle of timotei perhaps?

@Te Rangatira-27637: The product is not special. It was a superkakandcrappy shampoo that hit it’s peak in the 80′s. Awful stuff really. The tv advert however, had a chick with longggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg blonde locks who flicked her hair with dramatic effect :)

Wynand does the same……. but only when the stadium cameras are focused on him.

The new Stormer jersey is about R700-00
That is about the average price for the new look ones.
Problem is there is a new look one pretty much every year.
The NZ franchise jerseys also retail for that, except the Blues kit, they give that away if you buy a lollipop :-)

@nortierd-27644: Blues jersies are not gratis. My Blues jersey cost more than the new Stormers one (which the hubby kindly gifted me as part of my Xmas pakkie), by about 70 bucks.

Now I just need to get ‘Williams’ printed on the back.

Thats a good price, over here you will fork out $150.00 Nz. The Blues jersey, sad to say was discounted after the first six games last year, couldn’t give them away for a lollipop. This year however, they will be a collectors item..
