Hore set for hefty ban

New Zealand hooker Andrew Hore has been cited for an off-the-ball incident which subsequently hospitalised Wales lock Bradley Davies.

Hore hit Davies off the ball during the initial stages of last Saturday’s Test in Cardiff. The incident was missed by matchday officials, but Hore has now been cited and looks likely to receive a lengthy suspension.

The time and date of the hearing, before the IRB’s appointed independent judicial officer, have yet to be fixed.

All Blacks coach Steve Hansen expects the hooker to be sidelined for some time. Hansen did not say as much, but has already called for a replacement ahead of the coming Test against England.

Dane Coles is expected to start at Twickenham.

    100 tests as captain for you country is not something to be scoffed at. I don’t think it will be eclipsed by another.

    He is also just one short of the most victories as captain (47 vs 48 by Ponting). Odds are that he will have that record by the end of this series. Another record that will be very hard to eclipse in the future.

    I must say 100 Tests as captain is a truly remarkable achievement and hearty congratulations for Graeme are indeed in order.

    Smith backs up his arrogance in the middle.

    Because of his awkward technique bowlers have no idea were to bowl to him.

    To conventional batsmen, bowlers aim for the “corridor of uncertainty” line, but Smith works those balls to leg.

    We should embrace the fact that his a Saffer.

    @TooMuchRugby-27724: Must be honest, it’s a little arrogance IMHO, that is often the difference between good captains/players and great captains/players. Arrogance is often given a raw deal, all the true greats have had a splash of it.
    I’m a fan of productive arrogance.
