Hore set for hefty ban
26 Nov 2012
New Zealand hooker Andrew Hore has been cited for an off-the-ball incident which subsequently hospitalised Wales lock Bradley Davies.
Hore hit Davies off the ball during the initial stages of last Saturday’s Test in Cardiff. The incident was missed by matchday officials, but Hore has now been cited and looks likely to receive a lengthy suspension.
The time and date of the hearing, before the IRB’s appointed independent judicial officer, have yet to be fixed.
All Blacks coach Steve Hansen expects the hooker to be sidelined for some time. Hansen did not say as much, but has already called for a replacement ahead of the coming Test against England.
Dane Coles is expected to start at Twickenham.

Just wait until skopskiet gets here and sees this:
28 July 2005: “Andrew Keith Hore, 26, a farmer, of Ranfurly…admitted taking a marine mammal, namely a New Zealand fur seal, otherwise than under the Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978 or a permit, on June 12.”
Hore and two others had killed a protected fur seal on the Otago coast, a crime described by Judge Peter Rollo as a “grossly irresponsible, spontaneous act of hooliganism”. Hore was also charged with the firearms offence of possessing a semi-automatic shotgun but the charge was withdrawn by police after he paid NZ$500 to a charity, forfeited the firearm involved and voluntarily surrendered his firearm licence for two years.

It just makes me wonder if there any moderators in this site.

Hore was part of a group of eight men fishing from a boat round the Otago Peninsula, during the group’s return to land about 4pm, the boat went within 15-30m of the shore and Hore along with two others started shooting at rabbits on the cliff with semi-automatic shotguns.
They then saw seals on the beach and cliff and started shooting at them, sending the mammals fleeing for the water.
A member of a 45-strong tourist group viewing wildlife on a nearby beach caught the incident on video. At least 15 shots could be heard on the video.

@John Galt-411: Comment of the week
That said, Hore has always been a twat. The seal incident already tells you what type of fella he is.
And he ain’t the most popular AB player in NZ either…….
Filthy is filthy, whether it’ Kiwi filth (Hore), Saffa filth (Greyling), or Aussie filth (too many to mention
.
The IRB have had a woeful year in terms of foul play, and it’s time they got their judicial ***** in order.

Anything else?

26 Nov 2012, 12:19 pm
Lots of anger on here. Without the emotion, based on recent similar incidents, what does everyone think he deserves? Other international striking charges
Greyling – elbow to the head. Less damage done but about the same intent. 1 match.
Etzebeth – headbutt. Lower end of the scale. 1 match
Higgenbotham. knee to the head, head butt. less damage, probably less intent in the knee, not sure on the headbutt. 1 match per offence
Thompson – foot to the head. No real intention but didn’t look good. 2 matches
Am I missing anything? Were there any striking charges during the six nations?
Based on that, I really don’t see Hore getting more than 3 weeks but I suspect 4-5 might be more appropriate. One game vs England and 2 pre season matches. He’ll be back for super rugby
26 Nov 2012, 12:19 pm
@i_love_u_bakkiesbotha-431: Someone’s gonna “pop a cap” in someone soon……
26 Nov 2012, 12:20 pm
@Hurricane-421:
thanks for bringing it up.
Officials should have red-carded Greyling:
Greyling had the shocker of all shockers on Saturday night, the nadir coming when he hurtled over a ruck to smash McCaw, who was sitting on the ground, in the head with his forearm.
The South Africans have covered themselves in glory since, with their coach Heyneke Meyer offering an apology to McCaw, and captain Jean de Villiers also making it plain that internal action was likely against Greyling, even though de Villiers had yet to see the incident properly when questioned.
The Springboks have set a rare standard here – I certainly can’t remember an All Black reaction to match it over the years.
—————– further;
You would struggle to see a more violent act in the modern game and it was an ugly reminder of when Richard Loe was at his menacing worst.
————
The All Blacks were saved by two factors – the truly amazing Richie McCaw and the Springboks’ woeful goalkicking.
Some New Zealanders might fling the dirt at South Africa’s limited game plan, but it was good enough for them to be the better side.
26 Nov 2012, 12:21 pm
@katman-396: You can’t call that guy a leading journo. He had a sook after Deans was passed over for the ABs job so publicly stated he supports the Aussies and bragged about them winning their first match in 2008. All he writes is inflammatory drivel. I’ve never seen an article by him that even suggests he watches the games but why would he, he’s not an AB fan
26 Nov 2012, 12:22 pm
whatever.
keep licking the windows on that special needs bus mate.
26 Nov 2012, 12:23 pm
@gonzo-435: I left off Figallo, 3 weeks for a headbutt
26 Nov 2012, 12:23 pm
Cheap shot coward! No other words for a thug who attacks from behind. Make an example of him I say. Well the whole rugby world sure knows who the rugby bully boys are now. Arrogant coaches and fans….. Plain for all to see!
26 Nov 2012, 12:25 pm
@gonzo-438: Okay, so you don’t like him. Fair enough.
But does that make his take on the Hore incident wrong or right?
26 Nov 2012, 12:27 pm
@katman-428:
As we have said about Hore, why you carrying on like a baby?
26 Nov 2012, 12:27 pm
Sorry gonzo, beg to differ, he was singing the praises of the AB’s last week. Actually came a cross as a typical arrogant keeeewee fan basically insinuating that only Nz should play rugby. So he blows hot and cold for the ab’s, probably depending on what will sell papers?
26 Nov 2012, 12:28 pm
@katman-432:
ok thanks.
‘jack rolled’… silly kiwi slang…
@stormersboy-436:
huh? now i’m confused. is that the meaning of ‘jack rolled’ ?
‘pop a cap’ i take it is italian mafia slang for shoot someone but Katman says it to rob someone..?..
26 Nov 2012, 12:29 pm
whatever
he must have learnt it from that legendary saffa tough guy Bakkies, the one who eadbutts blokes half his size from behind
despicable scumbag is held up as a legend in SA. and to prove it wasn’t a once off he attacked the head of De Jong
he should have been banned from the game forever for that low act
26 Nov 2012, 12:30 pm
@gonzo-435: If it was just a punch, you could probably argue that it was heat of the moment stuff, or even provoked. But this was a swinging arm to the face from behind FOLLOWED by what very much looks like a deliberate knee to the head of the already unconscious player. And that puts it in an entirely different league. That’s a horrific assault that could have ended a player’s life. Do you want me to post the link to the gif again to see it for yourself? If the disciplinary board find that his knee was also intentional, then we’re going to see a very heavy ban here – possibly the end of his career.
26 Nov 2012, 12:31 pm
@Hurricane-443: Just trying to understand this fervent desire to “contextualise” the hore’s assault.
26 Nov 2012, 12:32 pm
@whatever-444: I stopped reading that rag of a paper a year ago so I don’t know what his current spin is but perhaps after four years of cheering for the ozzies was too much to bear. Didn’t stop him from writing a scathing piece about Henry and the ABs three days after the world cup. Anyway, don’t expect any of the kiwis on here to shape their opinions based on his “articles”
