Even in the NFL (with all its padding) it is illegal since the intention is to injure the knees of the player.

I suspect the Kings probably have a NFL ‘expert’ who realized there isn’t specific rules against that type of tackle in rugby, but tackling without the arms/stiff arms are still illegal… no matter whether it is around the legs or around the neck.

Aaah! The wheel turns!

Just rewards for the dirty tactics used in the second relegation match against the Cheetahs. The 3 players who were shoulder charged against their knees are still out injured and will miss a few weeks of Super15. Funny how SARU decided not to investigate that game.
