Props extend Bulls stay

Props extend Bulls stay

Bulls props Dean Greyling and Werner Kruger have signed contract extensions until the end of 2015.

Greyling and Kruger have agreed new two-year deals. Both players joined the Pretoria franchise after school and worked their way into the senior squad.

Head coach Frans Ludeke celebrated these signings.

‘It is no secret that high quality props are hard to keep in the country and to have two of them agreeing to an extension of three years at the same time is wonderful news, not only to the Bulls, but also to South Africa,’ said Ludeke in a statement. ‘Both Werner and Dean have their best years in their positions still ahead of them and to know that they will be playing those in South Africa and more particularly Pretoria is awesome news for all concerned.

‘Both joined as juniors and have been in the system for a long time now. They have embraced and supported the work ethic and culture within the squad and I expect both to become strong senior players in the years to come.’

    good-ish Super Rugby quality props – not test quality by any stretch of the imagination.

    @sparticus-2:

    Funnily enough, despite Greylings brain-farts, I’d still happily take him over what must be one of the worst Springboks of all time in Werner Kruger.

    These are 2 terrible signings though.

    Morne Mellett looks the solution for them on the loosehead side, while Marcel van der Merwe will surely start above Werner Kruger on the tighthead side. They’ve also invested heavily in youth props, and would be better off looking to them.

    Good move. Not the best, but good Superrugby players. And with so many injuries to props the Bulls and SA needs them to stay in SA.
