The conspiracy theorist in me tells me nothing actually happened and it’s just a ruse to get out of his contract at the Crusaders and go home to play for the Chiefs. The optimist in me tells me he’s going to the Blues. Thank god he’s already been capped or he’d be a Wallaby in no time.

a few south african players have been guilty of public drug taking, assault and even murder but still enjoyed generous support from their unions and many keo posters…

yeah… he needs to sort himself out… it has to be a personal decision by every alcoholic… but very few alcoholics can do it alone… as pedigree says, he needs a support system… and as his father died in what must have been very unsettling circumstances… who does he have to council or mentor him…

a little bit of compassion and assistance will go a lot further than a lot of judgment and insults…

but as you say… some time away from the spotlight would be advisable right now…

being drunk is one thing but getting drunk and assaulting people, would be harder to ignore – IF it is true.

I was in contact with Dawn and she suggested I take a ‘tablet’. I felt that I needed a blood transfusion Such was my exhaustion, with 19 km’s still to cycle. When Dawn BBM’d me, I was sitting on the side of the road…..sucking on my water bottle and gasping like a guppie in a final – I cycle, but it isn’t my strongest or fave discipline, and I was reminded of that once again yesterday

I hope you had a great weekend. And yes, alcoholism (often coupled with a personality disorder) is a disease. If they chuck him out, I would expect them to chuck out a fella who injures his ligaments as well.
Disease and injury IS disease and injury = we can’t start bringing in ‘levels’ to suit our own ‘morals’.
