Sarries soar & Munster muzzle Leinster
20 Jan 2013
Saracens are in the European Cup quarter-finals and Leinster are out despite winning at the weekend.
Leinster beat the Exeter Chiefs on Saturday but fellow Irish province Munster’s 29-6 win against a 14-man Racing Metro ended Leinster’s hopes of qualifying and was enough for an away play-off.
Saracens smashed Edinburgh 40-7 with South Africans Schalk Brits and Ernst Joubert among a rampant Saracens starting pack.
English giants Leicester edged French giants Toulouse 9-5 to secure a last eight place, but it was a match played in snow that would have down the visitors no favours.
Three French clubs, three English clubs and two Irish provinces complete the quarter-finals, which will take place in April after the Six Nations.
