Robshaw remains at England helm

Harlequins loose forward and captain, Chris Robshaw, has been reappointed as England captain for the upcoming Six Nations.

There had been some questions around his ability to lead the side after England’s tour to South Africa last year, but after leading England to second place in last season’s Six Nations, and captaining the side to a surprise 38-21 win over world champions New Zealand at Twickenham in December, the appointment was to be expected.

‘Chris stepped into the role 12 months ago, when we were building a new team, and he has grown as a leader on and off the field,’ said England coach Stuart Lancaster. ‘He showed those leadership qualities during the end of year internationals, and especially against the All Blacks when the whole squad got behind him. We have a number of leaders and I know they will all take this team forward with Chris as we look to kick on from that result.

‘There are other leaders in the squad that Stuart could have turned to so I am really honoured,’ said Robshaw, who led Harlequins to the English Premiership title last season.

England start their Six Nations campaign at home against old rivals Scotland on 2 February.

    My favorite Pom skipper ….based purely on not going for the corner against Boks ! Still baffles me!
