Kings made to sweat against Madibaz
23 Jan 2013
The Southern Kings only managed a 28-12 win over Varsity Cup outfit NMMU on Tuesday.
The Kings cruised to a 21-0 lead at half-time in their first pre-season game, thanks to tries from centre Andries Strauss, wing Sergeal Peterson and flank Wimpie van der Walt.
NMMU made it 21-12 as they hit back via prop Brendon Olivier and speedster Yamkela Ngam. However, the Madibaz failed to score anymore points as Cornel du Preez sealed the 16-point win with the last try of the match.

Eish.
I’ll be surprised if these jokers get 1 point (on the table) this season.
This is going to be very, very embarrassing.

Oh dear, it’s going to be a long season, we better save some jokes for later.

@hendrikp-1: They should get 8, unless they lose their byes.

Who are these Madibas?
Some kind of gospel group?
23 Jan 2013, 12:32 pm
cue transformation to tell us it was a side without any border or swd players.
because no one was selected from those unions by sheeky and co.

why do the madibaz have a z in their name?
surely this is pretty poor form for a “place of learning”

@Baylion-3:
Forgot about that! Stupid way of doing it hey.

@Baylion-3:
Always a possibility with this lot.

nmmu varsith cup team has been called the “Madibaz” since formation, why are punks questionimg it now?
23 Jan 2013, 12:59 pm
@Transformation-9:
Did the Kings play an experimental side in this game?
23 Jan 2013, 13:06 pm
The punk is desperate for an answer.He has been posting the same thing on other threads.
23 Jan 2013, 13:06 pm
@Transformation-9: why do you care, punk?
23 Jan 2013, 13:27 pm
I’m not sure the Kings are going to win their byes either…
23 Jan 2013, 13:30 pm
Don’t care what the Kings do this season,just glad that the Lions won’t be there.
23 Jan 2013, 13:38 pm
@Mr Black-10: no way to tell as the game was closed to the public & i haven’t seen any lineups but judging from the scorers it was mixed…
23 Jan 2013, 15:35 pm
@Transformation-15:
Cool, thanks.
23 Jan 2013, 15:36 pm

23 Jan 2013, 17:32 pm
O jissus………..
23 Jan 2013, 17:40 pm
In absence of HG
BOOM
It started
Reality bites like a dog eh Cheeky?
We’ll wait for round 6 against the Crusaders
What’s the odds for the Crusaders scoring 100 or more against the Kings, 1:1 ?
23 Jan 2013, 17:57 pm
NMMU are often the whipping boys in the Varsity Cup as well. So I reckon it’s safe to say that Maties, UCT and Tukkies would’ve been too strong for the Kings. That…. is a problem.
23 Jan 2013, 18:09 pm
23 Jan 2013, 18:31 pm
Maties managed to beat the Baby Boks, maybe they should play the Kings?
If they win they could rather play in the S15, they’ll do a lot better as well

23 Jan 2013, 23:03 pm

you can’t read much into these games … with Morne Steyn & Spies in the starting line up for the Bulls, the Kings will have a great chance @ Loftus …. in PE they will kill the Bulls comfortably!

@suffer_guy-27:
Yes, and the earth is flat, PE is the centre of the universe, and you do know a lot about rugby
NOT
Have your say
